Overstay of 110 days; whats the easiest way out

Indian passport holder with an overstay of 110 days, i know i was stupid but for someone who is depressed and suicidal theres not many options; so if i am to go back to my country, what is the easiest way, i mean go to an immigration office or get a ticket and go to the airport?

Buy your ticket. Go to the airport and pray you don't get spot-checked on the way.  If you go to another immigration office you will risk being detained. If you go to the airport with the ticket and the money to pay the fine you should be fine (except for the blacklisting).

Your only choice it to leave the country by air and pay the 20,000 baht fine on departure from the country.

You will be banned from entering the country for 1 year due to your overstay being longer than 90 days.

Start preparing what you have in Thailand for sale/storage with a friend.

It's fairly certain you could be heading for a one year blacklist.

Do a search on here for countries nearby that do or don't allow you to land after blacklist from Thailand.

Prepare for the worst and hope for the best.

Book a flight back to India asap.

Pay the 20,000 baht fine at the airport.

You will be banned from re-entering Thailand for 1 year.

 

If you don't leave of your own free will and get arrested for 'overstay, you will be prosecuted, held in IDC until the fine and a flight is arranged and paid for, and you'd be banned for 5 years.

That won't help your depression or suicidal condition.

Can I take that anyone turning up at the airport on 90 + day overstay, and gets blacklisted, they will stay in the 'waiting room' prior to boarding? Passport given to aircrew for holding until landing?

I'm not sure on the above.

No they will not be put in detention. As soon as the overstay fine is paid they can walk away from the overstay office.

If it was me I'd overstay to 364 days to make the most of it, assuming I didn't need to go back for some reason.

 

Ban period will be the same (1 year) as long as you don't overstay > 1 year. I'd be more depressed in India, but that's just me.

But if you got caught it would be a 5 year ban after being sent to the immigration detention center and then deported.

You need to quickly arrange all your thing, air ticket and 20000 baht cash, go to the airport ASAP to left Thailand! Don’t ever make this mistake again in the world as some country, they will put you in jail and not only paying fine! Good luck to you!

Why does it have to be a taboo? While not a wise option, It is a fact that many people will actually consider this,  calculate their risks,  pro and con, make assumptions,  and decide.  This is a reality. It is what gets the overstayers to be in this situation in the first place.  So I think we should not ridicule people who voice this kind of suggestion,  but rather debate with them.

I agree. It's not going to be the best option for most, but for some people it is an option to consider once they understand the downside.

 

The odds on being caught are slim, a 1 or 5 year ban is irrelevant if not planning to go back within 5 years, and a couple of nights in the IDC isn't that bad as long as you can get your hands on a flight out quickly. You also save about 15K baht in overstay fines if prosecuted through the court.

He has a history of overstaying and working without a work permit, he doesn't care about rules and regulations.

That's the part most people get wrong. They assume that getting deported is some sort of free service.

The flight is also one way and they tend to be expensive. No discounts, no special rates, no weekend special rates.

The ones who post about 'it's only a couple of days in IDC' have no idea what they are talking about.

If you don't have the ticket in your hand other people will decide on your length of stay, not you.

As you have noted, he is already breaking the law

 

Wouldnt it be sensible to overstay to 364 days taking account of the guys mental state ?

His punishment is going to be the same if he hands himself in today or on his penultimate day, so why not ?

I guess the debate here is that sticklers for the 'rule book'  will want this guy hanged where as the non-conformists will argue he might as well see out his overstay he is now engaged in

But your suggestion to break the law even a bit more is okay? Don't you think that it's quite irritating for the OP to make a decision now after so many others have suggested to go to the airport and pay the fine?

 

    Is it okay to create more problems for the OP? And a longer overstay, if getting caught, is a serious problem.

Better is now to pay the fine and wait till your ban completes

if god forbid you get caught and there are chances luck might be over and you are caught then it’s going to be a massive problem
