hi,

my wife has just been granted entry clearance to the UK,and I have a few questions  regarding the visa.

1. type granted - D- PARTNER(STANDARD) -  work permitted

On the letter it then states,   (Non-Standard 2) - because you satisfy therequirements of paragraph GEN.3.2 ofAppendix FM

Could anyone explain what this means?

2. number of entries-multi.   Does this mean she can visit thailand (or elsewhere) multiple times during the 30 month validity of the visa?

3. The letter states that she is on a 10 year route to settlement, and that she can switch to a 5 year route if she meets the requirements!

Typically, they fail to say which requirement she(or I) have not met,and have therefore been placed on the 10 year route (doubling the overall cost)

4. when she collects her biometric residence permit in the UK,will she be given a National Insurance number,or does she have to apply?

thanks in advance for any information,

tekka

thanks TCA,

However I still cannot make sese of this document,I feel it is worded as such to promote confusion and missunderstanding.

I will  no doubt have to contact UKVI when my wife is in the UK,at a cost no doubt, and be passed from pillar to post!

For a spouse it is a five year route as long as she meets the financial, language and Life in the UK test requirements. If at this stage she does not meet these requirements as I understand it, she will follow a ten year route.
