Boy, 9, who was brutally beaten by monk in Kanchanaburi has now died

"Both the boy's arms were broken, he had a fractured chin, blood on the brain and wounds and bruises all over his body." The amount of anger it takes to do that had to have been on display long before this incident.  The monk(s) that put him in charge of children; and, those who stood around watching are just as guilty as he is.

In Thailand, there are corrupt monks, Drunkard monks, Weed monks and now we have Killer monk!

Sad. One can see savagery is not confined to one particular religion  - or two. The culprits hide under a cloak with the name religion written on.

If one can beat a nine-year-old to death, he is not worthy of wearing that cloak. May Buddha bless his soul.

May the child Rest in Peace.                                                                                                  It is utterly ridiculous that when Monks are caught breaking the law they have to be defrocked prior to being charged. They were monks when the crime was commited therefore they should be charged as monks, maybe then the Sanga would properly vet all applicants.

But here you are, lashing out at a country and a culture of which you obviously know very little, if anything. Do your homework before you criticize, for <deleted> sake !

Which planet are you from, to call this culture?

This constant hiding behind religion. When is everybody going to wake up. In the words of Karl Marks "Religion is the opiate of the masses" in other words Religion is only a way of controlling people ,its the original brainwashing.

Poor little bugger, just imagine what he must have gone through.  RIP little man.

I don't have to insert any names of 'religions!

Each and every one of them have displayed more cruelty, viciousness, depravity, immorality, torture, degradation and hierocracy throughout the history of this planet than any other organisation known to man.

They are the scum and scourge of humanity - and not one of them has any proof of truth!

Liars and power seekers - every one of them!

What were the rest of the monks doing because I believe that this poor little boy would have been screaming in pain while this animal was beating him. I believe that the police should arrest all the monks at that temple and charge them all with accessory to murder.

RIP little fellow

The article says the mother left the child to stay at the wat when she couldn't afford to feed him. Other media impies the boy was unmanageable and was probably abandoned.

Whatever the case, rest in peace.

It does not matter what the reason is for him to be left in the care of the temple, there is no reason that this child should have been bashed like this by this animal and I believe that there were other monks that would have heard this boy screaming out in pain and they did nothing to stop it, these monks are as guilty as the animal that "punished" this child

This comment of yours post is remarkably offensive and dishonest.

If you had taken the time to read my post (#12) beyond the first line and understand it, you would have spared us this piece of pure stupidity, but hey, why let intelligence and honesty deprive you from the pleasure of launching a vicious and crass attack on another TVF member ?

I have been on this Forum long enough to know what kind of comments you make, and way too many of them are in that same spirit. Pathetic.

Study Bhuddism? Some of these dogs need a taste of their own medicine - Religion has nothing to do with beating a child to death. Hope this POS get's his just deserves.

The truth is, the mother put the boy in the temple because he was out of control.

As so many thai  dump their kids that they had no time for. So, the 64 year old monk certainly did bad. But his mother shares a part in the blame for sure.

Check his background. This monk sounds like an ex-cop.

Or standing politician.

Let him starve. Clergy are good for nothing except insanity. Same kind of human garbage as Catholic priests. Men who volunteer for celibacy have already demonstrated that they are insane. Letting them near children is a huge mistake.

Tragic

The catholic church ( back in good old back home ) has been a great mentor for child abuse in other institutions.

Deflection.

RIP litlle angel ❤️

really do the same to the monk :@

The monks are the worst kind of people , you don't want to mess around with . Many ex-convicts and criminals , the families send them to the temple and hope they will become better persons , but in reality they just continue with drugs and violent abuse.

Maybe the monk punished the boy because he did'nt follow the Monk's sexual preferences

The ordinary criminal law cannot be applied against monks.

Monks are protected against it.

Monks are only subject to the "law" of the Sangha.

Its "punishments" do not include incarceration or execution.

The Sangha, the temples, the monks, the abbots, are a state within a state , a law beyond the law, above and impervious to the laws that affect and control the general population.

That is why criminals in Thailand flee into the monkhood to escape prison or the death sentence.

(As did those who sought "sanctuary" within the Church in Medieval Europe).

In order to be charged under State Law (and be imprisoned or executed) the monk has to be ejected from the monkhood.........the protection of the Sangha.

But the State does everything it can to ensure that the Sangha itself (its practices, its laws, its power) remains protected.

Because it and the Sangha work together to maintain dominion over the ordinary Thai people.

Just as the Church and State did in Medieval Europe.

That's where you are.........the Medieval Period,.

You have time travelled.

Very clever of you.

(Apologies for any over simplifications, inaccuracies or "mistakes").

No more than adolescence is the "worst set back" for the individual human being.

It's a "phase".

Its time will pass.
