Songkhla man arrested in Saraburi with 154,000 meth pills, 10kg of 'ice'

A Songkhla man was arrested in Saraburi on Wednesday morning after police at a checkpoint found 154,000 meth amphetamine pills and 10 kilogrammes of crystal meth hidden in his pickup truck.

PHUKET: Inspections of a beachfront business and two workers’ camps that were issued formal warnings last week for dumping untreated wastewater into a canal at Kamala Beach have been conducted, with officials saying they are not satisfied with the results and will continue to search upstream for other polluters.

PHUKET: A 12-year-old dog called ‘Chao Mum’ was rescued from a canal in Chalong this morning (Aug 29) after it became trapped as the banks of the canal had been reinforced with four-metre-high concrete walls.

Thailand visitor arrivals up 11% in Jan-Jul

Thailand welcomed visitor arrivals of 22,657,730 over the period January-July 2018, up by 11 percent over the same period of 2017, according to preliminary figures tabulated by the Ministry of Tourism and Sports. Estimated visitor expenditure also rose significantly, up 14.44 percent to Bt1.18 trillion.
