I'm curious Thailand is very casual about how young girls get pregnant and and then must raise the child alone because the father to young and stupid to take care of the baby. No child support in Thailand so how would the girl take care of a child if she got pregnant?

"...Estimates put the number of Thai prostitutes at anywhere between 800,000 to 2 million-plus, with many aged under 18..."    I don't have a problem with 'working girls' unless it is forced

  • Clearly it will not be legalized. Think of all the missing tea-money.

Sex sells and it's good margins plus has been around as long as we have. If you want to cut down on prostitution, then you need to make a fairer society where these women have a choice and are not discriminated against plus can get jobs that pay a reasonable wage...and ultimately that goes for everyone really. Just being dismissive and still operating like you did 300 years ago doesn't fly anymore. Thailand is one of the most unequal countries in the world...what do you expect when you (the privileged) are such social fascists to your own kind (let alone anyone else)? For example, do you really need a degree to be a hotel receptionist (pfft)? Thailand, although not alone on this one, should think about moving towards a meritocracy where people can better themselves and competent or driven people succeed. Dream on though, the elite/rich here just want their slaves and will do anything to keep it thus. My apologies to the apologists, just the truth.

You mean 90% of the Thai girls you know are prostitutes.

No 90% of all girls everywhere prostitute themselves in some way or other don't care what anyone says its my opinion of the species.

Well, isn't that what I said? It's your opinion because that is what you've encountered.

You have that backwards, if I am the teacher, you need to sit down. Keep paying attention, even you may learn yet.

What??? Brothels are disguised as massage parlors in Thailand???

Not at all; that would be illegal. Massage parlours are licensed to provide personal services.
