Nong Khai school ordered closed until Wednesday after Maekhong bursts its banks

Flooding persisted in the Nong Khai area resulting in the two day closure of Pak Suay School in Wat Luang sub-district, reported Manager.

 

The level of the river is going down about 2 centimeters an hour but was still over the banks of the river this morning, Tuesday.

 

The school will be closed today and possibly longer.

 

Military and civil defense volunteers were on the scene in the area and that of Ban Deua sub-district in the Muang area of the north eastern Thai city.

 

Some ten properties were affected by the severe flooding.

 

The water level of the river was at 12.54 meters, exceeding the bank by 34 centimeters though it was down 28 centimeters from yesterday.
