PHUKET:-- The dangerous surf and rip currents continue to endanger swimmers along the west coast with rescues at Nai Harn Beach yesterday, while at Nai Thon Beach on the northwest coast lifeguards are saddened by the drowning of a much-loved local dog at the beach earlier today (Sept 5).

The dog, 8-year-old male ‘Thae’, belonged to a lady who sells fruit shakes on the beach and was very popular with people along the beach.

“Apparently, Thae had a fever and ventured near the water, possibly to cool off,” Daren Jenner explained to The Phuket News today.

The dog had a fever and then went down to the water's edge to get cooled off when a big wave grabbed it and pulled it out to see but a lifeguard noticed it was distressed and then attempted canine CPR but the dog did not respond and remained dead? Wow, that's incredible.

at least the stupidity of a dog is understandable.

Dogs  are not stupid, yet are unlike humans with regard to precautions. Then there are the  Chinese tourists who have a greater sense of cognitive ability- at least in theory, yet succumb to the same water conditions.  The difference?

It's a dog ferfarksaek- hardly newsworthy.
