Thus are local ladies immune to being raped or is there some cultural differences here? Firstly women are subserviation to men (in general), if a man wishes to impose himself on a lady, the lady can give in, fight him or try and run away. Society is male dominated. In a situation where a man is in a powerful position, there is very little a victim can do. Now we can probably understand why the police would not want to accept a rape claim; a report would need to be filed and no local policeman would want to write that up. Now consider the English girl; she comes from a culture where rape is considered a crime. She had her drink spiked and then not able to fend off someone who wanted to have sex with her. Then we have Thailands reputation as a tourist destination. Thus we see there is alot at play here and the truth is probably not the priority? " She had her drink spiked and then not able to fend off someone who wanted to have sex with her". There's no evidence that she had her drink spiked but there is evidence that she had been drinking all night up to the point where she wanted to go back to the hostel and was accompanied there, via the beach, by one of her male friends, Martin. He was not there when she woke up and claimed to realise that she had been raped. Why did that man, who was supposed to be seeing safely home, leave her alone, unconscious on the beach? The girl reported the attack but the Thai police refused to register her complaint. You claim that she did not report a rape, and is therefore lying to the world. No proper professional investigation has taken place, and never will ... for a number of reasons that have little to do with the victim and much to do with the technical competence, motivations and objectives of Thai law enforcement. A clamp down in corruption, including Police corruption, was one of the stated aims of the new government. All it would prove was that there was Thai sperm on her t-shirt, nothing else, and certainly not rape! Just, you should join the British police force, there is a job awaiting someone with your skills. The police won't prosecute anyone nowadays unless you have video evidence of the crime having taken place and one police force was only responding to burglaries that occurred to even numbered houses. You can easily apply your logic that no burglaries take place in odd numbered houses and no crime takes place unless it is captured in 3D and dynamic surround sound with the criminal screaming at the top of his voice "Look everyone, I am committing a crime!" There was an alleged claim of rape, it initially started in Thailand, as even the BKK post started off with "reported stolen" and 2 paragraphs later was saying "lost". Let's go back to square one, according to the Thai police she didn't lodge a claim of rape, so therefore as far as the Thai police should be concerned that's it, or did she? The first rule when digging yourself a hole is stop digging, the Thais in this case are not only still digging they have bought in a bulldozer. I go also back to square one, how is the stolen iPhone investigation coming along?

That would be the same Martin that was supposed to be escorting her safely home after she said she felt drowsy after a night on the sherbert but who, for some reason, took the drowsy girl to the beach. There, according to her story in The Times they sat down together, she was unraped at that stage. Some time later she awoke alone, allegedly raped, on the same beach, with no sign of her Sir Gallahad (Martin) who appears to have left her there and buggered off.
