We have been told on many occasions even by the police.. there are no "mafia" in Pattaya!!

Police having a birthday celebration seem the need to go armed as if on duty to an establishment where no mafia reside?

Kudos to the guy shooting the rogue owner but this opens a can of worms ?

Family resort indeed !!!

Thais and guns....It happens every week. Let them kill each other, but as a farang, always stay well clear of drunk Thai men.

hm are you saying that thais and guns happens every week in pattaya or all of thailand?

if you mean in all thailand then you are so wrong.... 80% of murders is with guns and there is minimum 3-5 shootings a day with someone dying,

more than 3,000 people were killed by firearms in homicides in thailand 2016 according to research by the University of Washington.

So the Mafia boss and the Police Sergeant Major were the best of pals until they wanted the same hooker.

(Guys, learn to wait, she can sort you both, no need to shoot)

Amazing Thailand!

I was not there and the writer of the news article most likely wasn't either. Your conclusion lacks first hand observation to have any merit. What is truely amazing is the lack of awareness as to what is fact or baseless opinion.

the men involved had their weapons hidden.

Probably didn't have open-carry permits!  The weapon that was the root of the problem was hidden in their underwear!

most people are subjected to searches.

Except policemen and mafia bosses.  I drive home along sai 3 twice a week.  It's like the wild west with hundreds spilling out of clubs on to the road.
