I don't know if Thailand has this or not, but in the U.S., if a minor (16-17) engages in a heinous enough crime, the judge in the case can easily declare that he/she was old enough to know what they were doing, and will be tried as an adult.  Judges almost always do this if the Prosecutor asks for it.

The teacher was fired because they didn’t follow the rules re allowing a child to go to the toilet alone. That is my understanding. It’s not a case of “now justice is served”. It’s a separate incident.

I love this concept that humans up to the age of 17 and 384 days old don't 'understand what they are doing' and then suddenly on their 18th birthday they are a fully functioning, responsible member of society.  <headshake, gag>

I blame the Internet, whereas kids and teens have easy access to porn sites glorifying in simulated rape and perverted sex videos. Oh this is absolutley  horrible.

 

A few hours ago we were being told about a pack of dogs killing a 4 year old girl and now this.

 I wonder sometimes when I read stories like these why I choose to live here, but I suppose it's the same the world over, we just don't have the time to read about it all.

 

I hope that we can follow this story to it's conclusion, but I fear a soft sentence, if one at all , will be handed down because of their ages.

 

If one of my sons had ever done anything like this I would have killed myself, what kind of father would I have been to let them think it's OK to behave like animals and do this kind of thing...Beggars belief

Yes, more or less it looks that the whole world is going nuts.

A poster above was blaming the internet, i would rather blame a society which has become excessively competitive.

The parents seem not to have enough time to educate their children, as one salary is not enough anymore.

I'm afraid we'll have to see more and more uncivilised and criminal behaviour from adults and children alike

Aside from this being a desperately sad and sickening story, something else troubles me.

Surely teenage boys with this kind of extreme twisted mindset, and with these type of s3xual preferences are exceptionally rare? Yet there were 3 of these freaks in the same year, at the same school, hanging out together?

 

I mean, if the victim was another teenager it would still be a sickening act, but less mind blowing to read.  But all 3 of them were ok attacking and raping a 4 year old?
