An assistant village head was killed in a drive-by shooting by insurgents in Pattani's Yarang district on Wednesday night, police said.

Mahama Sueni, 48, assistant village head of Moo 4 village in Tambon Yarang of Yarang district, was gunned down while riding his motorcycle on his way to guard the Yarang Kindergarten School.

He was shot three times on his head and two more on his arms. His rifle and 9mm pistol were stolen. He was wearing bullet-proof vest.

Police said four insurgents came on two motorcycles. The first motorcycle cut in front of Mahama's bike to slow him down before the pillion rider of the second motorcycle shot him.

there must be something more to this to get taken out in such a way!
