MMA Influencer Mina Dies After Crash on Samui

Featured Replies

A 23-year-old female boxing influencer and MMA fighter, Dominika Elischerova, known online as Mina, has died after a crash involving a lorry while travelling to a Muay Thai training session. The Czech national was seriously injured when a truck struck her scooter on Koh Samui. She was taken to hospital but died despite efforts to save her life.

The incident occurred as Mina was en route to training, according to local reports and statements from those close to her. She had travelled to Koh Samui to pursue Muay Thai and had built a large social media following of around 800,000 documenting her journey. Mina had also appeared in the Czech mixed martial arts television programme “Clash of the Stars”.

Following the crash, Mina suffered critical injuries and her heart reportedly stopped four times, according to her teammate Samir Margina, who said he witnessed the incident. Speaking to CNN Prima, a day before her death, he said: “Mina’s heart has failed three times, now for the fourth time, put her in a coma four times.” He added that she was in a very serious condition and urged people to pray.

Margina also criticised the hospital, claiming that medics laughed while attempting to save her life. He said he had tried to intervene to ensure she received proper care. In a later tribute shared on Instagram, he described Mina as “the biggest fighter” and thanked her for their shared experiences.

A spokesperson for the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that she died despite immediate efforts to assist her and before further treatment could be carried out. Friends and colleagues also paid tribute online, with influencer Adelka Soukupova writing: “Goodbye, sister. You will always be my older sister, who I could confide in at any time. I love you.”

A statement from Clash MMA said: “It is with deep sadness that we announce that Dominika has sadly lost her final battle in hospital. We are extremely sorry for this. This is ripping our hearts.” The tribute described her as a wrestler, presenter and valued member of their community, adding that her “laugh, positive energy and fight will never be forgotten”.

The Sun reported that authorities have not released further details about the circumstances of the crash. The incident has drawn attention to road safety risks for riders in Thailand, particularly involving larger vehicles. Further information may emerge as investigations continue and officials review the events surrounding the collision and subsequent medical response.

Thai hospitals can be unprofessional like that.

What is a MMA influencer?

Can't we just turn on the TV or screen

ourselves any more ?

The bigger vehicle always wins so you best get out of the way.

Laughing can be one reaction when a Thai person is stressed or in a bad situation. It's not the laughing that we are accustomed to but a cultural reaction.its not laughing as in funny haha.

I've seen them 'laugh' when talking about the death of a loved one.

Off topic troll post removed.

@spidermike007 this topic is in the Koh Samui section of Thailand news. There are multiple topic covering the Iran conflict in the world news. If you don’t like a topic, don’t click on, it’s that simple. It is not your place to try to dictate to the news team what topics to post.

So a foreign influencer offering no benefit to Thailand whatsoever, regarding tax and SS and it's the hospitals fault???...did she have insurance, did she have a license, did she wear a helmet was she speeding??? Too many variables but to blame the caring people that are trying to save someone's life is disgusting.

Victim blaming is disgusting too.

Thai's often laugh when performing a job incorrectly, when there has been a problem that arises due to incompetence or similar.

It's something I dislike but it is a Thai/Asian thing

Their work ethic is what keeps me employed in the offshore industry, professional supervision required

No victim blaming at all in his post, just some questions. But maybe the victim was to blame?

Poor Lady, RIP.

I have enjoyed riding motorcycles for more years than I care to admit, but I won't ride a motorcycle in Thailand. It's just too dangerous.

Influencers are really good. I have my own version ..my wfe and when she gets in a reall cranky menopause mood and starts to annoy me that influences me to make a decision to get down to the pub to get away from her until she cools down.

That's a quadrillion times better than a million social media followers!

Dominika Elischerova RIP. 23 years is much too young to die.

People laugh when attending to an accident victim?

Was Margina a Doctor to ensure she received proper care?

I guess I am missing something here.

Without more details, one can hardly make an informed comment:

Was she wearing a crash helmet?

Was she experienced in riding a motorbike?

Was she sober?

Was the truck driver sober?

Was the truck driver driving in a sensible manner?

etc etc

Cementtruck probably, worst on Samui

We know she's dead.

I've ridden motorcycles/scooters in Thailand for many years, the things I've learned are; drive VERY defensively, expect other drivers to do the unexpected, and keep your head on a swivel. You have to think about ALL the things that could happen, from drivers not paying attention, to dogs running out in front of you, to low hanging cables, etc, the list is too extensive to list all, but you get the idea. Defensive driving/riding is the key over here. Stay safe out there!

A tragic end to such a young life

Condolences of course to her family and frieds

RIP

Usually they are on special vitamins like steroids, HGH, EPO, Peptides, Testosterone, etc. and have lots tattoos. The women are feminine and docile like the Incredible Hulk. Sometimes the pitch of their voice might sound a little like a horse trying to say he is hungry.

Don’t be ridiculous, medical staff behave that way all over the world. It is not unique to Thailand.

Sixteen years ago, I was in a waiting room in an American hospital, doubled over with severe abdominal pain, and was told by a nurse to sit and wait for an orderly to take me to an exam room. She then continued her phone conversation, giggling incessantly and showing complete indifference to my condition.

About fifty years ago, I was lying on a gurney in severe pain in a San Francisco emergency clinic, being treated by a Czech doctor, when an American doctor walked in, struck up a conversation, and started laughing about something. Needless to say, I felt like slugging the guy.

That said, when I needed emergency care for my injured right hand last May, I went to a Thai hospital and could not have received better treatment anywhere in the world. In fact, all of my experiences with Thai medical professionals have been positive.

Always find it amusing when Americans who can't afford healthcare back home rave about how cheap and wonderful the Thai system is.

If I were paying $10,000 for Pad Thai back home versus $2 for Thai street slop here I'd probably be singing the praises of that $2 slop too.

For years they didnt spot me on my scooter in Bangkok and phuket. I often dressed the same as grabman or a typical Thai. No skin showing and a full helmet with sun visor. Gloves pants and a hoodie as well.

Waved through many a check point.
