I want to get a marriage visa (i know thats not its real name), and I want to apply based on my income

I understand I need a letter from my Embassy (British) to prove my income. I dont earn any income from the UK. My income comes from 2 different countries. Only a small part of it goes to my UK account, most of it comes straight to my Thai account.

Can my Embassy write me a letter for this. or only UK based income?

If the Embassy cannot help. is there another way I can go about getting some kind of proof of this income that would be acceptable for a marriage visa?

The UK embassy will accept any income to do the letter.

Not sure about about showing a Thai bank account though. Do have you any proof for the source of your income. They would accept statements and etc from the source.

Would it be possible to get a earnings statement from them? How do you know they paid you enough when it is transferred into the bank here?

The embassy might accept the contract  and copies of your bank book showing foreign transfers coming into the country.

Perhaps best to contact the embassy about it.

Do you have experience of them doing this in regards to overseas income?

the application looks like I can just provide bank statements,  but my concern is the foreign income? how are you aware they will do this as they seem to say literally nothing about it

Please send us:  Photocopy of your current British passport  Evidence of your current pension/income which will be returned to you: o If you receive a UK pension, please send us your latest pension statement o Bank statements must be dated within the last 3 months  Completed application form (below)  Fee 2i + postage Please note we will use the financial figures provided on this form and will not check or amend any financial amounts. Please ensure the pension/income evidence you provide is in a format that is simple and easy to understand and shows clearly the financial amounts to be included in the letter. According to Thai Immigration, your pension currency should not be converted into Thai Baht.

There have been posts on this forum about them accepting income earned outside of the UK.

There are people that are working outside of the country on a rotation that do it every year to apply for their extensions.

Cheers UbonJoe, looks a lot more straight forward than I thought . I was concerned I was going to have to pay some 'Agent'  some stupid fee to arrange the funding proof, but its looking like I should be able to do the whole thing on my own.
