dieter1
" Thailand unites the flesh and blood of Thais. The land of Thailand belongs to the Thais. " first line of the Thai national anthem in full: " Thailand unites the flesh and blood of Thais. The land of Thailand belongs to the Thais. Long has been our independence, wish sovereignty allowed to maintain it, Because Thais have been united forever. The Thais are peaceful and loving, but are not cowards in war. Our sovereignty will never be threatened, We will sacrifice every drop of our blood for our nation. We are ready to die for freedom, security, and prosperity! " does it make sense for a farlang to sing this ? 1

Saying that , there are many non ethnic Thai "Thais" . People with Thai nationality who are not ethnic Thai . I do feel that the Thai N/A is out of date and needs to be changed (like many other Countries national anthems)
Eligius
I wonder if this chap knows what the first words of the Thai national anthem actually are? In English, they are: 'Thailand unites the flesh and blood of Thais. The land of Thailand belongs to the Thais.' I won't say (cannot say) what I REALLY think ... 1
Popular Post mikebell
Don't know what all the fuss is about; I see lots of farangs standing to attention on markets/BTS stations at 6pm or in cinemas during the anthem. Even opposing football fans manage to keep quiet during a minute's silence. It's called respect. Yes, you're absolutelty correct. If you look closely at the vid you can see all the Thais singing the anthem. Indeed I've never seen any Thai (civilian) in my 15 yrs here sing the anthem when they are obliged to stand up/stop walking when those bloody annoying loud speakers burst into life. Sure they stop or stand up but that's about it.

Does not make a lot of sense for a Thai to sing it- they surrendered within a day of the Japanese invasion in 1941, so much for being ready to die for freedom! 1

If you have no respect for Thailand as a Country , you really should move on somewhere else . I say the same thing to disrespectful foreigners in my Country , if you dont like it, dont stay No I DONT have to respect the country I live in, all I have to do is follow their laws, is it a law i "MUST" stand or is this "peer pressure" to stand?

Daffy D
Back in the days after the first Moon landing there was a company selling plots of land on the Moon. Just for fun I bought a couple of plots for my nieces I wonder if they still have the title deeds, could be worth big money in the future
Sir Charles
It’s OK he can do it but the funny thing is that some farang pretend to be more Thainess then the Thai people themselves... Just behave yourself, respect the habits and follow the law and you will receive respect too by the Thai people. That’s all.
