Big screen e-reader

I need something to carry around to read, only read and nothing else. My eyes, even with glasses, won't tolerate small print so I need something with a laptop size screen. Google found Onyx Boox Max2 with 13.3 e-ink display. Perfect, except it's more than I need with touchscreen/stylus so forth, and expensive. In fact, the only Thai outlet I found for it is on-line www.b2s.co.th asking 29k b. So questions:

1. Is the Boox Max the only game in town? Or are their reputable only-reader products which might be cheaper?

2. Where can I check these devices out before buying?
