PHUKET: The Governor of Phuket on Monday (Oct 8 ) met with the Vice Consul-General of the Phuket Chinese Consular Office to discuss a number of topics including the raising of the ‘Phoenix’ tour boat which sank on July 5 killing 47 Chinese tourists.

The meeting was also a chance for Governor Phakaphong Tavipatana to congratulate Vice Consul-General Li Chunfu and the Chinese people on the National Day of the People’s Republic of China which fell on Oct 1.

Also in attendance at Monday’s meeting was Acting Director of the Phuket Marine Office Wiwat Chitchertwong, who was there to provide an update on the salvage operation to raise the Phoenix tour boat.

congratulate = kowtow, following Prawit's example.

Vice consul "many Chinese visit phuket and when they return tell their friends" yes on landing your scammed at immigration, then in the taxi.then forced to go shopping and pay big money for crap, then you can go to the deadly beaches where there's no lifeguards.then if you fancy your chances go on a boat out in a storm piloted by a moron with a death wish.i won't mention roads and driving.the only thing The Chinese will probably have praise for are the prawn buffets.
