Cost of Ed Visa and Renewals in Phuket

Featured Replies

Hi,

Been looking at an Ed Visa with a Phuket language school for a "friend", I'm retired so I'm OK !

I was told by a school this week that 90 day renewals cost 5,000thb and that all schools/students have to pay this. My friend used to pay 1,900thb in Changwattana.

Just wondered if this is the norm here in Phuket and/or if anything has changed since Big Joke is having a bit of a Immigration/Tips clampdown etc etc

Cheers

Cliffy

1900 is still official price.

'Extra' is so they dont actually give you a on the spot test. If your friend is confident of being able pass one of those he can bypass school paying under table and save himself the cash, though note test can be verbal and/or written and whatever level/subject immigration officer wants it to be, so no way to prepare. From what heard everyone just pays up to advoid the risk.
