Where Do All The Cool Bangkokians Go?

Featured Replies

Hi there,

I have lived in Bangkok for almost two years now, studying at Assumption Uni. Anyway, I think it's time my 'phan' and I socialize a bit more with other farangs, besides it gets boring staying home all the time.

I'm *very embarrased and ashamed to say* from the US, 27, into punk and electro music. I'm also gay but don't matter if you are recommending gay or straight places (I'm sick of the gay scene in Silom here), just want to know some cool places other than Silom to have some drinks, meet some people and get a little bit of a social life going.

Any advice would be appreciated!

Later,

Dan

Have you been to the Q Bar. Thats a pretty cool place and good music. Nice mix of locals and expats

RCA-Royal City Avenue, many cool discos to hang out, mostly students and rich kids.

Not particularly like disco or any lound music, I would prefer a place to have a good conversation with a beer or two. :o

87 (in the Conrad, around past the shoe shine stand)

I was in there one night and sitting acroos from me was Paradorn Srichipan and Tata Young.

Diplomat Bar(also in the Conrad) is good for a few drinks and cool jazz.
