Choose white, most reflective, durable, and easiest to clean. You'll be cleaning blue every second day if you are house proud.

Red is the worst colour choice possible for any vehicle. The pigments absorb more spectrum radiation than any other colour - at least that's what a paint chemist told me. Fades quicker than any other colour.

Think about it - how many good-looking older red cars do you see on the roads?

Not so, my 11 year old BLUE Vigo still looks like new...You are thinking water colours....????

Friend of  mine is paint shop manager at Jaguar Near Birmingham says RED was the most expensive paint for them to buy in.

Used to see many Reds faded to pink, depends  how  long you keep it i guess.

Ferraris ????

White would hopefully stay cooler but after sticking my hands on a few white painted cars it was s till pretty hot, guess conduction off other materials

This is just an extra resource for some info, ive  not dismissed Toyota at all and the reports are numerous on the Oz site, if  I could find an equivalent Thai site here that would be great for seeing whats  real and whats not in all brands  models.

I cant find any site on Toyota reliability and MAYBE thats due to defamation laws.

There are differences between some models built here and sold here, and the same model built here and exported to Australia. The export models have to meet Australian ANCAP standards. Models sold in Thailand have some of the fruit salad such as safety gear stripped out to increase the bottom line.

Try doing the same with a black or dark blue car, then Google Stefan-Boltzman constant.

B-Quik now does syn oil and filter on the Vigo for a tad over 1000bht..

I assume Vigo is also 7 liter of oil, so very much doubt that you get 7 liter of fully synthetic oil AND an oil filter for a tad over 1000 Baht, unless that tad is 900 Baht.

You can't even buy only the oil at a shop for that price

6 litres of Mobil 1 syn from a tank with filter was 1290bht 2/3 months back..

Semi syn was 990bht..

Am well aware of heat exchange in colours which is why I stuck my hand on the white car, still too bloody hot.

If anything Aussie  cars are  better  kitted  out, but I am aware  theyre different but not hugely so.

I'm sorry, but I find it totally humorous when people are talking about styling on a pickup, or chuntering on about the comparative merits of their performance and handling. It's a bit like Trump explaining the benefits of socialism.

They are a truck. They perform like a truck, and handle like a truck. Depending how you drive them and load them, they are potentially lethal weapons - to the driver or anyone else on the road.

Get yourself into a modern high performance sedan or coupe, and you'll see what I mean.

The whole point for me is this, Chevvy stated in a big fanfare, oil change every 15k's, this is what i want as im 40km from them, they then stated 10k for 2019 models and it just aint true if  using synthetic  oil and they have finally  admitted this in an e mail to me. But behind all of this is the "will they try and weedle out of a  warranty claim if I say Ive changed oils at 15k not 10k"

Its about me buying a vehicle that suits my needs which are below

1 -15 k service interval, I run up 10ks in no time at all going back and forth to BKK from where I live 250km each way

2 at home servicing

3 mustnt have <deleted> quality Orange peel paint (Ford Mazda worst)

4 half decent customer service ( almost impossible in Thailand)

5 No major known defects, Ford Rangers  sump oil issues draning for more than 10 minutes = bye bye engine.

6 not an ugly shitebox (personal opinion)

I like Ranger but its  paint is crap and service <deleted> too, note the class action lawsuits in Thailand + Australia both which Ford has  lost.

Chevrolet are few and far between for dealers but with their mobile servicing could be good, their paint is way above Fords crapness. I test drove both found Ford a  wallowly low powered lump (3.2)

Currently got a  Vigo but the Revo is dull as  anything and low powered.

Hoping Chevvy will re introduce the 2.8 to combat Fords Bi Turbo ( already some unreliability reports)

Ive got a four year old Vigo 4x4  it's a bit boring and the seats don't like sun tan oil as change coulor where it touches, but I would trust it to go anywhere and get there. My friend has a newish Ford auto done over 100 k back forward bkk chaingmai and no trouble at all with it, but there's a guy down the road got a 3.2 and he's had it back loads of times. In the UK the Vigos (hilux) hold their money the best.

i don't do a lot of mileage in it but have the oil changed every year or 6 k miles as it's so cheap to do in Thailand vs cost in U.K.

Yes , a brown 2016 current  'look' ...

Ask him what the faults were, any excessive engine oil use issues as Ive only seen this  on the 2.8 lit and his was probably 2.5.

Jeez, he will be writing to the Manufacturers about that.

Well I don't  blame him so much  in Thailand, they'll do anything to get out of paying, seen it too many times in just about everything.

Mrs  took a handbag in to be repaired recently and they lost it , dragged on for months and offered her some stupid voucher for  a new bag from then in only a certain range at about 20% of the original bag cost and reckoned they were doing her a favour.

Nothing like the old bags value (not the Mrs ????).....MAJOR store in Thailand.

Mind you, had plenty of crap like that in my home country with warranties from major car companies, a  lot of these companies now just tie you up with their legal department or tell you "they're all like that".

BMW was one.

These days seems like "same same" world over.

Mines been reliable enough, seatbelts  rattle  like  buggery, although I dont think Ive ever had a  car that's been unreliable ever, includes Fiat Uno Turbos 3 ,Vauxhall Astra GSI 16v  Vauxhall Astravan. Citroen Berlingo ( and theyre supposed to be crap, great thing indestructable, ugly as a pig mind used for work ) Peugeot 205cc Cabriolet, Bmw 325i, Vw Corrado V6 The  Juke and Toyota Hi lux 2,5 Jazz, Alfa 147 3.2 etc been thru most manufacturers.

Worst, Suzuki but on a bike.

Biggest fault was new Astravan which had  the metal work in the dashboard live, found  out when fitting a  stereo and what should  all have been  neutral wasnt.

Service varied from all, Fiat was the best but that was 1989-91, mostly down to the dealer and me changing it yearly with them, but no breakdowns in any of those vehicles.
