lots of factions in the army

There are two publicized factions or "clans": the King's Guard and the Queen's Guard:

  1. The Queen's Guard includes Prayut and army chiefs, Prawit Wongsuwan and Anupong Paojinda, who today serve as deputy prime minister and defense minister, and interior minister, respectively known as the Eastern Tigers.
  2. The King's Guard includes include Maj. Gen. Narongphan Jitkaewthae, Maj. Gen. Songwit Noonpakdee, Col. Chatree Kittikachorn and  Gen. Apirat Kongsompong (son of Gen. Sunthorn Kongsompong, who led the 1991 coup that installed the National Peacekeeping Council as a junta).

  • Ah, so when the leader of the Future Foward Party, etc, says something they don’t like, it’s a ‘national security’ issue. But when one of their own says something (and not just anyone. The actual lead

  • IIRC they were almost the same words used immediately before the last coup.

  • Promises from military leaders are not worth the toilet rolls. Untrustworthy and blatant lying are their traits. The less they speak about governance and politics, the better. They have no roles in go

You do realize that this has been performed, a few times, in the past, yes?

First counter-coup happened only less than a year and half after the June 1932 military overthrow of the absolute monarchy under the Chakri dynasty.

In October 1933, there was a failed counter rebellion by provincial garrisons led by Prince Boworadet, a former Minister of War. https://www.tour-bangkok-legacies.com/1932-coup.html

The 1933 military rebellion was followed by (I believe) by seven more failed counter coups to date that is aside to the twelve successful coups to date.

Thailand's history brings to question whether military governments bring peace and security to a nation.

if political power is wielded correctly,

without disturbing the money flow, then carry on regardless.

It's tad like the European Union.

The masses vote the wrong way...then do it again until you get the right answer

In Thailand

The masses vote the wrong way....stage a coup!

I'm all up for the bookies in Vegas to start running a book on the date of the next coup

Looks like the current junta is in trouble. When the Toads lips are moving you can bet nothing coming out is accurate so another junta is likely.

I'm sure they're getting their ducks lined up.

Yet, prepare for a change of players.

Though, the theatre will remain the same.
