A fire broke out inside a computer server room at the Police Logistics Office in Bangkok's Dusit district late on Thursday.

Pol Col Krissana Pattanacharoen, deputy spokesman of the Royal Thai Police, said the fire broke out inside the room on the second floor of the Quartermaster Division of the Logistics Office at 11pm.

Krissana said no one was injured.

He said officers on duty initially tried to put the fire out on their own using extinguishers but later sought help from firefighters.

The fire damaged computer server, CCTVs and an internal phone system.

The cause of the fire is unknown.

I prefer "Fireball"   the  beginning sound

like a very heavy duty electric motor starting up.

The magic in your eye bewitches all you gaze upon
You stand up on your hill, bebop all around you
They wonder where you're from, oh yeah
They wonder where I found you

Fortunately the Windows 1.0.1 floppy was stored elsewhere so the system can be restored.

Suicide, brake failure.....the usual suspects, no?

Fire extinguisher failure, fire blanket burnt to a crisp, The smoke alarm was working fine - one of the staff had it at home for testing.

If it’s a server room, it’s quite possible the air conditioning failed. Servers can get extremely hot unless constantly cooled, and can cause fires.

Possibly exacerbated by an inadequate server alarm system which fires off alerts to the appropriate staff that things are not good in Computer Land.
