Need advice on a Thai girl

Details

1. Am in an on-going new relationship (3 months) with a girl gainfully employed in Phuket as a fitness trainer.

2. I am a farang working in Singapore as an expat. 

3. I visit her every month for a weekend.

4. Although gainfully employed, she is building a house for her parents and 2 siblings in Chiang Mai. 

 

The problem

1. During the first couple months of the relationship, I was very careful not to wear expensive clothes or jewellery.

2. I made the mistake of bringing a luxury watch on the most recent trip.

3. Over the course of the week after the trip, she started pestering me to get a branded belt ($600+) for her, which I normally would never buy.

 

She has previously never asked me for gifts or money, and I strongly suspect that she started asking me for the belt after she discovered I could afford certain luxuries.

I would much rather give her cash she can use for expenses as opposed to wasting it on a belt like that. I am a very pragmatic person and she knows this.

Expending a weekend every month is already very taxing on me due to work constraints.

I can well afford the belt, but i'm afraid it will lead to more/bigger things in the near future.

 

Any advice?

Just say no to buying the belt and explain you feel it is a waste of money for a belt. You say you would prefer to give her money, I suggest if you do then limit it to a very small amount per month (5,000 bhat)? and then wait and see what happens. If she likes you for you and not the money then you may be okay, if it is the money that she is after then you will know very soon when she drops you.

Gainfully employed, building a house....shes getting money somewhere, unless its a present I wouldnt lash out $600

so in that case, those who call the same girl every month to come for the night are also in a relationship ... only cheaper.
