Windows 10 single language from Lazada

Featured Replies

If I order a computer with the single language version from Lazada in Thailand, can I be 100% sure that language is English?

Why don't you ask the vendor? Lazada does have that facility.

Go to your chosen item, scroll down to 'questions about this product' and fire away.

You also have a 7 or sometimes 15 days return policy with Lazada, so if it's wrong, send it back.

Windows single language can be any language, you pick the language when installing, you cannot change the language later. So if you are buying a PC with windows already installed you would need to specify what language.

I think you would find most would probably install English as default or the PC would have windows half installed and prompt for language and finish install on first boot up.

If you get the installation media, USB/DVD etc you could always reinstall windows from scratch an choose the language.

Believe almost all Windows 10 is English native language - single language just means only one extra language may be added.  For Thailand that will likely be Thai and computer will probably be set for that on arrival - but language can be changed to English.

I have done my Windows 10 Pro installation on myself.

For my standard account it is in German language, admin account in English, one more account could be in Thai language.

As far as I know also W10 Home allows change (adding) of additional languages.

In Windows 7 you needed an Ultimate version to do so.

At stone-age all was much more complicated.

For XP you needed a special "MUI" version/kernel as far as I remember.

If you order a new PC with Windows pre installed it surely will be Windows 10.

Do not purchase any Single Language SKU, let alone Home Single Language.

Just buy a 10 Pro product key from Amazon or wherever you feel most comfortable and then download the installation software directly from Microsoft.

OP,

You will need to look at the Description on the package.  Single language means you will only be able to install "one system" language...and it's the language identified on the packaging.   For the single language Windows versions sold in Thailand it's almost always "International English" which is actually UK English.  For example see below for a Lazada sold Win 10.

I would also recommend you buy a license off Ebay for a fraction of the retail cost....and be sure to buy a Win 10 "Pro" license since Pro allows you to install whatever language you want to, has additional capability of Win 10 Home, etc.

Both of my laptops are running Win 10 Pro licenses I bought shortly after Win 10 came out...got each license for around $15 USD.

Ditto if you want to buy a MS Office license....get it off Ebay at fraction of the cost....I have three such Office licenses running on my three computers (two Win 10 computers and one Win 7 computers).  Got each for around $12 USD around 2 years ago.

Either way, don't do it. Home is bad enough and Home Single language even more crippled.

Since Microsoft make it simple to download and create the latest installation media, it's even more of an imposition to buy an old Home Single Language which will then need to be updated anyway.

Just say no. ????
