buy on ebay and send product to bkk?

Featured Replies

I wonder if thai customs would hassle a smallish product on ebay sent to bkK?

lets say a 25 dollar plastic item.  I was In croatia this summer and with my us ebay acct I successfully bought 23 dollar tea item and it was sent flawlessly  . I think it has to do with the shipping terms on the ebay item. I wonder what cheap way people in Thailand buy these Chinese plastic parts on the cheap?  another site other than ebay?

Most probably through Alibaba

To answer your question there is a risk that the customs will cause a hassle.

However I have purchased many items from overseas delivered to Thailand via ebay without any problem.

The secret is to look for a buyer who is part of this scheme which is marked part of the global shipping programme. This guarantees hassle free customs.

Alternatively you can look at somewhere like Lazada that does local delivery.

Rarely had a hassle when I've bought things from Ebay in the past 12 years... once or twice.

Yeah, pretty well zero issues with low-ticket items from Ebay and AliExpress.

Most stuff sent by regular mail or EMS gets through with no fees.

"I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"

There should be no customs due on any shipment below 1,500 baht value and most shippers will not declare value more than that for normal small items.  Look for 'free postage' items as they will normally be sent by postal service and much less chance of courier issues - or if paying use mail service delivery.

Ebay and Aliexpress are very good for Thailand delivery.  If you can find on Lazada Thailand there will not be any customs issues if stocked here - for items on Lazada mailed from overseas suggest check price on Ebay or Aliexpress first (have found much cheaper buying from Chinese sellers directly).

Do not like buying from China, even when buying Items listed as UK sender still turn up late with a Chinese customs deceleration on them and a nominal one US dollar declared value regardless of true value.

If buying from a 3rd party shipper you probably are paying more also.  I have found it best to pay/ship directly from the Chinese sellers on Aliexpress - time can vary from 5 days to 2 weeks but seldom longer than that.  Ebay has varied greatly and 4-6 weeks at times but most about the same as Aliexpress.
