London violent crime could take 'a generation' to solve

 

It could take a generation to solve London's violent crime problem, the city's mayor has warned.

 

Two teenage boys and two men have been stabbed to death in the city in the last five days, including 15-year-old Jay Hughes. Mayor Sadiq Khan told the BBC's Today programme to "really make significant progress can take up to 10 years".

 

Home Office minister Victoria Atkins said combating violent crime "isn't just about police numbers".

There would not be so much knife crime if it was just the sort of people who used to live in London many years ago still lived there , just have to look at the pictures of those doing it and the victims of the crimes , most are non white ,sorry if that's racist ,but its the truth .

Possibly, just maybe, perhaps there is the slightest chance that big cuts in the police force - cuts made to help compensate for the big tax cuts given to the wealthy -might have something to do with the rise in crime?

So tax cuts makes boys / young men go out carrying knifes does it ? incidentally if the police are that short why don't they transfer the 900 officers working on hurty hurty hate crime to the streets ?

Basically, your first sentence is an argument against the effectiveness of any policing.

As for the 900 working on hate crimes, that would barely put a dent in the cuts made by the Tories.

You didn't read the article I linked to did you? Eleven years ago the police said that the increase in knife crime was due to immigrants.

Agree with the ten years only in a slightly different context just jail anybody carrying a knife that has not to do with a relevant trade use for ten years and problem solved. By all accounts all British prisons are now sh1t holes so they will regret their stupidity and yes there are not as many police on the streets but obviously there are enough for the same black politicians to constantly go on about stop and search problems for black people. Also I am not racist just stating a facts that the majority of UK knife crime is carried out by the minority black population.

That said, how does the increase of immigrant justify lowering the number of police on the streets? I don't understand. If you've got a problem that's getting worse, you cut the resources to fight it?

I’ve been in London this past week, and elsewhere in the UK since.

 

The absence of a police presence is striking. In London outside zone 1 I saw no police officers or police cars and I’ve only seen one police patrol car this week, it was parked off the road.

 

Elswhere in the UK.

 

Speaking with an 83 year old family friend who was burglared while in her home, she waited two days for the police to visit after her son called the police.

The police excuse for not showing up immediately, the victim had locked herself in the kitchen for over 20 hours until her son found her, the burgerler will have already escaped.

 

The burglar was caught a week later by a neighbour. A white British woman with a police record for breaking into the homes of old people.

 

This in a provincial town with a population around 17,000.

 

The local police are absent on the streets across the UK.

Take the drug profits away from the gangsters and 80% of this type of crime disappears. It would take a radical approach that the old dinosaurs in power don't have the cojones to try. Thus  probably expect this to get a lot worse no matter how many cops they put on the streets.

To solve a problem, you first have to face the problem.  When a termite infested tree finally is so weak that it blows over in the wind, the wind was not the cause of the tree's structural failure. But the UK authorities will blame the wind every time.

Acknowledge Met Police are claiming UK blacks are involved with knife crime and as reported elsewhere by so named 'postal' youth gangs in London, plus of course white UK national criminals.  However, provide credible source/s for your claims of non UK citizens committing a statistically important number of knife crime. I say 'statistically important' as no group is free of criminal elements.

Knife attacks have been a big problem in London recently, as far as I read from various sources.  Just imagine, if gun control in the UK were as lax as that in most parts of the US, the murders/injuries would be at very high levels in London too.

 

So, yes, knives can also kill or maim; but with guns, it is a lot worse.

Look at all the advice and classes for girls/women to protect themselves against sexual assault. So offer advice and classes to boys/men on knife fighting. He pulls a switchblade, you pull a Bowie. He pulls a Bowie you pull a sword. He pulls a sword, run like hell.
