My current non 0 visa (Thai wife And children) expires 5th December. When can I apply for a 60 days extension, and what documentation is required.  I need to extend due to urgent medical treatment which will not allow me to travel out of Thailand for the next 4-8 weeks. Thanks to all for your kind assistance with my query.

You could apply for the one year extension of stay based upon marriage now if that is what you actually have. If you told them about having to leave to leave they could start the under consideration stamp on the 5th of December instead of the date you apply. And then you could get a re-entry permit valid to the report back date on the stamp.

If not they would likely do the 60 day extension now if you explained you have to leave the country for medical treatment. The 60 days would start on December 5th.

Your wife will have to be with you when you apply. You will need your marriage certificate plus a copy, copies of your wife's house book registry and ID card. You will need proof of residence to prove you are living within the immigration offices designated area.

Thanks Ubonjoe for the quick reply. Much appreciated. I have been married to my Thai wife for 25 years but worked overseas on single status for much of that time to build up our retirement portfolio. Been back home in Bangkok/Nonthaburi for the last 11 months on a non o visa and may renew it for another year as I still work periodically in Asia. As mentioned above that o visa will now expire while I am undergoing medical treatment in Bangkok, (already commenced) which is why I wanted to extend my current O visa by 60 days. Alternatively I may try for the retirement extension as my Thai bank accounts well exceed the required baht 800,000. Will call the Nonthaburi immigration office for more info and advice but thanks again for your kind assistance.
