WhiteHatPhil Posted November 6, 2018 Posted November 6, 2018 Hi I am asking this question on behalf of my Thai friend and her US-based boyfriend. She already has a US Visa (not sure of the type) and has visited the US twice in the last 2 years. She has three children all under 14 years and is planning to fly with them to the US on holiday next March, 2019. I am trying to help her with the DS-160 but my question concerns the need for an interview. Will it be necessary for the there children (ages 13, 8 & 6) to actually be interviewed by the US embassy/consulate here in Chiang Mai? I also find it odd that all the questions I have seen so far assume that it is the completer of the form who is requesting the visa. I hope there is somewhere further in the process where she can clarify that it is for her child..? Thanks in advance!
jimky Posted November 14, 2018 Posted November 14, 2018 They will need an interview appointment. It is required their parent or person accompanying them attends the interview with their passports. They are not required to attend themselves.
