Different classrooms should have different calendars indicating their availability for a lesson slot on a particular date at a particular time.

There should be a facility to enable teachers to be assigned to particular classrooms, for specific courses,with a specified group of students.

That sort of thing...

I hope you will tell me your ideas! I need them :o

Try something like MS Project.

Used for managing projects and assigning people to segments of work.

It should work for the school timetable in the same way.
