Hello,

i stay now in thailand for 20 month. In a few month i become 50th and i will apply for a retirement visa and need some information about the proof of income.

So my questions now are

The last 15 month i transfered every month from an account outside thailand some money to my bank account at Kasikorn Bank.

- I read monthly income must be 65.000 THB every month for the last 12 month, so one time in the last 15th month it was under this amount (42.000) THB, but the other months it was around 100.000 THB.

  Will this be a problem?

- Lets say i apply at 15th of january 2019 for my retirement visa. Then i need to show proof of income for the last 12 month. That means from january 2018 to december 2018, is that right?

- Like i wrote, i transfer always to the same bank, Kasikorn, but i never update my bankbook, nor i print out my bank statements regulary. So can i just walk in to kasikorn bank

and they print me out my last 12 months of statements, where it is marked that the deposits come from oversea. Will the immigration accept this?

- any other things i have to be aware of?

Thank you for support....

Kasikorn banks will print out a statement for the year and charge about B200.

As to your "Visa"" situation others more knowledgeable will be along to put you straight.

Historically, you could only get a retirement extension based on 65,000 monthly income if you acquired a letter from your embassy (form varied) confirming your average monthly income. There is now a major crisis, as several embassies have indicated that they will no longer issue these letters after some specified date. The reason is stated to be that Thai immigration want embassies to guarantee that the information in the letters is correct, and the embassies discontinuing the letters are unwilling to do this.

It is very uncertain how applying for extensions using the income method will work starting in January. Possibly, if you get an income letter from your embassy in the next few weeks, you will be able to use it to apply for an extension in January. Some immigration offices may allow you to use other forms of proof to satisfy the income requirement.

You may want to read the several long recent threads on this subject.

What is your nationality? Where do you plan to apply for your extension?

Under the current rules you need to get a letter from your Embassy in Bangkok confirming your income.

Immigration do not, usually, require anything more than the letter. Occasionally they may ask to see the money coming in to Thailand in which cash your monthly transfers will be accepted even though one was under 65K.

thank you for all answers..

looks like i totally understand this proof of income wrong. I thought only persons get this letter from the embassy (german) when they get some pension, or retirement money. So money which comes from the government. In my case the money comes from privat savings which i transfer from my oversea bank to my kasikorn account. My idea was i get a set of bank statements from the last 12 month from kasikorn bank, so immigration can see the frequent monthly deposits come from outside thailand.

I will check then with the german embassy. Anyone some experinece with applying for this letter at the german embassy in Bangkok?

The real question is whether your embassy will issue the so-called embassy letter on this basis, ie without evidence of income. Proof of income usually is a letter of confirmation from your employer or other person or entity that paid you your income.

You are asking the question we all want to know. Immigration's track record on consistency has us all wondering. Different answers are being reported daily. Only time will tell.
