Police admit they have come to no firm conclusions after an 18 year old woman from Chiang Mai was found dead in a Hat Yai hotel room.

The victim was foaming at the mouth and there were two pills on the floor. There was bruising on her neck.

She was named as Thatiya, aged just 18.

She had spent the night with a 14 year old boy who had left the room at 9am.

Staff at the hotel in Chiaw Uthit Road said that the woman had arrived on Friday. She often stayed at the hotel usually being joined by her boyfriend who is from one of the provinces on the border with Malaysia.

But this time the boyfriend did not show up and the woman told a maid that she was rather sick and not to bother to clean the room.

The maid had her son who is 14 sleep with her as a friend. They all knew each other well.

On Sunday afternoon the maid became suspicious and got the master key and found her dead.

Police spoke to the boy who said that he often stayed with the 18 year old if her boyfriend was not there.

He ran errands for her getting drinks or food.

He said he had left the room at 9am Sunday and all was normal. Thatiya was sleeping.

He was shocked when she was found dead.

Chief of Hat Yai police Pol Col Kitichai Sangkhathaworn said there were no signs of a struggle or disturbing of objects in the room and the victim probably died from disease.

But the body has been sent for autopsy to find the actual cause.

Surely you never heared of an epileptic attack i guess.

Btw it happens that a body produces foam after somebody passed away. Yep it is naturally.

Good point, never thought of a potential epileptic episode.
