Is Father's Day (5th of December) a dry day this year?

Featured Replies

Greetings Northerners, Funsters and Coal Miners,

Myself and a group of friends are planning a gathering which normally involves several towers of beer in addition to the jovial conversation that we enjoy (especially after the first few towers have been depleted).
Anyhow my question is: Would the 5th of December be a good day to plan for this being that it's a public holiday or is it still a no alcohol day. and I should plan for another date?

Peace and out,

The Blooded Tiger

Are far as I know it is not a dry day.

Dry days are normally only for Buddhist holidays.

And elections...... oh, wait ????

BUT, if you go to Tesco or Big C, or anywhere to get your ale the day before, 4th Dec, you will NOT get plastic bags, so take your own

December 5th. Was not a dry day last year, so I think it will be ok again this year. Touch wood.....:whistling:

I have never know an official dry day for Dec 5 but I have known areas where the police have decided to dictate it is dry.

It has certainly been a dry day before, but here in Hua Hin we will no doubt be told at 23:59 on 4th December, as always, at the very last moment. The words organise, p*ss-up and brewery spring to mind.

The problem is that nobody will give you a definite answer now.

Often this is decided by the police in the last days or even just one day in advance.

And it might be different in different police districts (or should we call it night life areas).

Probably you will be able to get your drinks on that day. But maybe only in some locations and not in others.

I got lots of plastic bags at Villa. And even alcohol at the wrong time.

NO BAG DAY is 4th Dec.

Oh, thanks! I wasn't informed when I entered the country. Where are the official postings for such?

I thought he was referring to markets not supplying bags anymore.

two calendars on the web showed Father's Day on Dec 5 this year and next, found nothing saying July 28 or any other day

It's a holiday in sukhothai and a wet one 555

At least one bar in CM, Gekko Bar, is closing for the day on 5 Dec by choice as a mark of respect to the old king, not by law/BIB.

Check your local pub in case they do the same.

I wonder what calendar they were looking at, when they served me a beer that was a year old.
