How are non-maga Americans describing yourselves to non-Americans that you meet now?
The electorate was not voting for your shopping list. They were voting against the status quo. Many perceive themselves as hurting and want fast results. Yes SS deductions will be reduced, but so too will SS payouts. Someone has to pay for social security and the 40-65 year olds are going to be in for a shock if the changes are made. Tax cuts mean less revenues and much of the budget (73%) is consumed by mandatory spending payments for social services and really cannot be touched. Almost 5% is on debt service, and if Trump runs up the budget deficit, which is what Republicans do, there won't be much that can be "cut". Of the remaining 22% of discretionary spending, more than half is spent on defense and veterans benefits. -

You are ignoring the reality that many of the election wins were by razor thin margins. These are the regions likely to return to the Democrats in the midterm elections when incumbent governments typically get shellacked at the polls. -

This sub-forum is quiet almost like half the posters are missing - since the election
Can you keep the talking to just mumbling to yourself? Just write it in a diary instead of posting on here. -

DTV or retirement visa ?
I own my condo, is this good enough to get a certificate of residence ? I can easily obtain a DTV, but I read somewhere that my current 5 year DL would then become 2 year temporary licences, which isn't great, and I hate going to the DLT, it's a lost day. Also many officials, such as cops, look at the driving license and things get much more relaxed when they see the violet strip. I still have a company in Thailand, just without me on the payroll. -

Vehicle theft
That does sound werid... Usually the Police are not so lazy to write a report... Your relative should go back to the station... there is no way the police should get away with just dismissing him. Is the car fully insured ? Note: only Type 1 and Type 2 - cover for theft... The compulsory insurance (por-ror-bor) does not. -

DTV or retirement visa ?
I mean, the DL might not be the only issue. Maybe there are issues for postpaid phone, car lease contracts, etc. -

Vehicle theft
These tags work through 'blue tooth' proximity.... Basically, if its near another samsung phone it will 'relay' its location via their 'Smart Things' network. Apple Air-tags work in the same manner, but through Apples 'Find My' network and iOS devices. One consideration: Samsung has 20.6 % of the phone market in Thailand. Apple has 33.4% of the phone market in Thailand. So there is a greater chance of finding your 'tag' through Apple, but all that depends upon what eco-system you are within already. I have Air-Tags on / with my Bike, Bike Keys, Car Keys, Car, Suit Cases... Its good with the suit cases, I can see whether my bags have arrived when I'm waiting for them at the baggage carousel. I also put my bike in for a repair recently - it took a while for a spare part so it was with the dealership for over a month (they lent me a spare bike) - while my bike was there, I could see it was there all the time and that no one was taking it on 'joy rides' etc... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uNORAc8qb5U&t=1s
