Why so many conspiracy theorists and what to do about them
The comment wasn’t directed at you in the slightest, but rather at those attempting to troll and derail the conversation. On the contrary, you've kept this thread thoughtful and engaging. Absolutely... In light of the overwhelming evidence, indulging in such speculative ‘what-if’ scenarios—such as imagining a world where everyone believes the Earth is flat - is a fruitless exercise. It is no more meaningful than pondering a reality in which water is dry: a notion inherently self-defeating and devoid of reason. This is precisely why I’ve approached your questions and comments with respect - they’ve been thoughtful inquiries, ones that many might have. I’ve watched 'moon landing denier' videos myself, and they are undeniably convincing on the surface, I’ve also taken the time to watch the rebuttals, grounded in scientific evidence and facts. It quickly becomes clear that those who perpetuate these conspiracies do so with a deliberate disregard for the overwhelming proof that debunks their claims. -

Swede's Split-Second Distraction Triggers Buriram Accident
Your comment dismissing human error as merely "a milder expression of stupidity" is not just insensitive but dangerously misinformed. Human error in road safety isn't about coddling people or avoiding “harsh realities” — it's about acknowledging the complexities of human behaviour and it’s universality in humans all over the world – Yes – that includes you. It than follows that it’s about designing systems that account for them and mitigate the results. Every major transportation safety authority in the world, from the World Health Organization to national road safety boards, recognizes that people make mistakes. That doesn’t make them stupid — it makes them human. Fatigue, distraction, momentary lapses in judgment, or even poorly designed infrastructure can lead to catastrophic outcomes. The goal of modern road safety isn't to pretend these don't happen; it's to reduce the harm when they do. Calling that "a sheltered world" is missing the point entirely. It's not about sheltering people from reality — it's about responding to reality with empathy, responsibility, and smart policy. The real stupidity lies in refusing to address preventable deaths and injuries because of a misguided belief that only the flawless deserve protection. If you have any doubts, then check out the countries employing the “Safe System” and variants for road safety. BTW – just because you don’t know about it, doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist -

Blow torch impossible to buy in Thailand?
Yes but the newer types run hotter. Where were you buying gas 40 years ago? I don't remember ever seeing it where I see it now. -

A true story about an old pal of mine.
Crossing the Border without going through immigration (x2) is the easy part. What could be far trickier nowadays is then exiting from Cambodia. "Back in the day", before Cambodian immigration was computerised, you would turn up at your home country embassy in PP, claim "lost/stolen passport" and get an replacement or emergency travel doc. You would then visit Cambodian Immigration, pay the fee for an exit permit (memory suggests you are given 7 days to leave the kingdom?) etc. and then fly out. BUT Cambodian immigration now appears to be fully computerised, so now immigration likely checks your entry/visa status when you apply for the exit permit, in which case the above will no longer work. It depends on how their database can be searched - if only by passport number then it should still work (because you do not have that number), but if they can also search on name, D.O.B., nationality, etc. then it would throw up no record of entry and so some squeeze would be needed. -

Yes, totally fake. They have landed on the back side of the flat Earth.
