BANGKOK, 8 December 2018 (NNT) - The Ministry of Industry has announced New Year Gift measures for the people and business sector.

Industry Minister Uttama Saowanayon announced the Ministry of Industry's New Year Gifts for 2019 measures to help the general public, SMEs, and business owners at all levels.

The measures are categorized into four objectives, starting with providing greater convenience and reduce the burden from businesses. Measures in this category include the abolishment of the factory operation permit extension requirement by the Department of Industrial Works, and the opening of e-Payment platform for fee payments.

The second category is the reduction in the business operating costs, including the reduction of the interest rate of the circulating loan for processed agricultural product industry from 6% to 4%, and the promotion for SMEs product quality certification under the Thai Industrial Standards Institute's standards by providing up to 30,000 baht cash coupon for each participating business.

The third category is to improve the capabilities of local businesses through the introduction of Thai Best Products application selecting some 240 key goods and souvenirs from 77 provinces to international customers, while the opening of the National Automobile and Tires Testing Center in early 2019 will help businesses cut down 95 million baht costs each year, as well as the Industry Transformation Centers (ITC) which are now opened in all provinces.

The final category is to take care of farmers', workers', and the general public's safety and welfare, such as the safe mining project which offers health check-up services for villagers living close to mines, as well as employment and skills development projects for elderly persons.
