You’ve obviously never heard of anti jamming devices... lol... or pre programmed flight patterns.

Okay. now your cocaine is over the wall and seized. the wall would also be dual use as you can stop the flow of guns into Mexico if you check both sides.

Collect a tax to enter of $20 and impose a tax of $100 per firearm leaving. Make it e felony to evade either.

In the meantime, you forget who the real enemies are, and where they come from.

Good timing right in the middle of one of the biggest investigations against your president, and also treathning to shut down public services right before christmas. What to say about such a nobel man?

It must have been choreographed!  Two New Yorkers couldn't possibly have a 15 minute long heated conversation without the "F' word being spoken many many times and each of them criticizing the other's ancestry!

The wall was designed to keep people in not out

The Berlin wall was penetrated by many US and British agents, repeatedly. Walls do not work.

There are many more intelligent ways to control migration. But who suggests Trump could adopt an intelligent idea.

Look at the body language of Pence. His body language says it it all. He is stoney faced, non engaging

and is leaning well away from Trump.

You raised two good points. Yes, the Berlin wall was compromised many times and ways, and the penalties for doing so were fatally severe and also that wall was tiny by comparison with the proposed massive area of the US/Mexico border wall.

Regarding Pence's surrealistic or even serene demeanor or body language in this tense televised meeting as you say, there have been several pieces written today postulating about how he just tunes Trump out and does not get involved at all when Trump is on one of his rants. Commentators can't figure out if he doesn't give a damn or if he is just simple.

Weird. Seems everyone has already forgotten the SchumerShutdown that we just had at the beginning of the year, and how the Dems folded after what? 2 days? And the Dems took a publicity beating for it.

Now ole Nancy is gonna give it a try & threw the first salvo at Trump trying frame the narrative with "TrumpShutdown" & promptly got dragged. Publicly.

Again, excellent job, Mr President. Keep them in the public eye & show the citizens how little the Top Dems care about border security.

Have you lost your meds again? Have you?

If you truly want to look at a massive wall that failed, look at the biggest wall ever built. The Chinese wall is far more impressive than anything proposed by Trump

or built by the Russians. Walls fail. The Israelis can hardly contain Gaza and it is costing a fortune. The only people that win will be construction companies and guess who is lobbying Trump.

It should be noted that walls create no income, require constant surveillance and helped bring down the countries of China and Russia.

You can go through, under, over or around walls. Or go to somewhere there is no wall like the Canadian border.

You cannot view the body language of Pence and not feel some disquiet.

Trump was promising to bring down the government. Gloating and proud that he would do it.

How very presidential. Tomorrow he will deny all and say it is all fake news.Laughing stock of the world and talking about stock, how is the stock exchange doing now under Trump.

Donald looked like a petulant school boy not getting his way he is so unsuited to be president the vast majority of drugs enter through the ports not carried on someone’s back chuck and Nancy played that clown like a violin and now if there is a shutdown Donald owns it 100% is this the way he reacts to world leaders?really??

Definitely Pelosi was the "cool head" in the room.  I dislike all three of them (was that a mannequin in the 4th chair?), of which Nancy is the least loathsome.  She's got DT dialed, and isn't going to fall into his game.

Y'know, coming into a job and not knowing all you need to can be remedied with a little conscious effort.  DT doesn't do that.  Pelosi was trying to explain a certain Congressional procedure and DT cut her off for being wrong -- geez!

Central American asylum seekers in Mexican border town Tijuana reportedly marched to the U.S. Consulate on Tuesday to present the Trump administration with an ultimatum: let us into the country or give us $50,000 each to turn back home.

Remember Trump had a bipartisan deal. He was given $25B for a border wall in exchange for resolving a crisis HE created regarding DACA recipients. It was passed 54 to 45 in the senate.

He wanted to include curbs on family immigration (you know, like Melania’s parents). His proposal got only 39 votes in the Republican controlled senate.

So the deal was dead. Trump killed it.

Now he wants $5B for a wall or he’ll shut down the government.

Trump doesn’t want solutions. He wants more problems for America. Why? Because he works for Putin.

Democrats withdraw offer to fund Trump's border wall

Quote

The Senate’s No. 2 Democrat, Dick Durbin, asked by a reporter whether Schumer offered Trump $25 billion for the wall in a major concession to the president, did not dispute the figure, but said: “He did it in the context of a negotiation.”

Senator John Cornyn, the No. 2 Senate Republican, criticized Schumer for pulling the wall funding offer.

We've all seen the news from the border crossing at Tijuana. The barrier there looks pathetic. Can any reasonable person not see it needs an upgrade. Its unbelievable so many thinks having a solid barrier at strategic locations isn't necessary. Of course it's not 100% fool proof but what is.

Pelosi owned the "presidential" liar. The democrats and the country dealing with this disastrously corrupt potus will be lucky to have a house speaker with such massive cajones. People find her abrasive? So what? A man being similarly abrasive would not be criticized in that way.

Pelosi puts an ignorant, irrational president in his place

For all those Americans who have pined for moments when someone would say to President Trump, “That’s just false, Mr. President” or “Excuse me, but you’ve been fact-checked on that repeatedly,” Tuesday brought moral vindication. If you’ve found yourself defending the concept of objective truth or furious that the conservative movement has entered some postmodernist moment when facts are whatever you say they are, soon-to-be-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) delivered in a face-to-face confrontation over funding for Trump’s border wall.

(As an aside, I’m at a loss to understand how any Democrat could oppose literally the only elected Democrat who has publicly called out the president to his face, scoring a direct hit.)

Trump is incapable of negotiating.   If he wanted his wall, he could get a very good and healthy start, if he were will to talk about replacing portions in need of fixing, repair or replacement with a better fortified 'wall', instead of demanding a 2,000+ mile wall that can't be built in some places.    He doesn't give and as a result he doesn't get.

That's what's so stupid about all this. The democrats are not for open borders. There is overwhelming bipartisan support for RATIONAL border security including walls and fences in strategic areas, especially urban. These barriers have existed for a very long time. Of course they need maintenance, improvement, some additions, and proper staffing and high tech solutions as well. Part of this is tone as well. Decent Americans honor that the USA is a nation of immigrants. There has been vicious racist demagoguery around immigration issues throughout history. "trump" is the latest. Don't forget Irish need not apply and Operation Wetback.

I thought I remembered Trump stating, time and time again, that Mexico would pay for the wall.

What happened? Was he lying?

Is he a lying liar who lies?

Watching events in the US has become a great deal like watching a slow-moving car crash. You want to look away, but you know terrible things are coming and you just can't avert your eyes.

I sincerely hope that one day the US returns to being the decent, honest nation that it can be...

I sincerely hope that one day the US returns to being the decent, honest nation that it can be...

and that would be??????

the nation that overthrew the elected governments in countries like Iran and Chile?

The nation that uses the veto to protect Israel from atrocities against the Palestinians in the UN?

The nation that went to war in Iraq on a lie?

The nation that supported Jim Crow laws?

Need I go on?

IMO, the US hasn't been a decent, honest nation since the Korean war.
