This is the official Poster of the Year (POTY) thread.   Here are the rules:

 

1.   Each member can submit 3 nominees.

2.  Nominees must be living members and cannot be permanently banned from the site.

3.  Moderators and admin both current and former are not permitted.  

4.  You cannot nominate yourself.  

5.   Previous winners cannot be nominated.  

 

Previous winners have been:   Transam,  Nancy L,  Jingthing,  Naam.   If there are others please let me know and I will add them to the list.   

 

Once the nominations are in, I will make up a poll.   The forum software has limitations on how large a poll can be, so we will most likely have to have a run-off if it follows previous POTY topics.  

 

Although we want to give members leeway in the discussion, please adhere to the forum rules and refrain from flaming or excessively negative remarks.   

 

Depending on the number of nominees, please submit the names by DECEMBER 20.  

To kick things off I nominate BM's Bendejo, Brunolem and Impulse. Each have offered posts that made me think or laugh or otherwise appreciated this past year.

Here we go again, once the formalities are over, and all the runners are approved, I guess I will be commentating as usual. Last year was a little tame when compared to the two years previous.

 

Let the dirt digging commence .....

djjamie for having finally been proved correct in all of his assertions about the Junta. Or not.

Meanwhile Trans (current POTY holder) has lost the tiara and the pink tights ......

To any newcomers,

 

what starts out as a polite and lighthearted affair, quickly descends into serious character defamation - kidnapped cats and disappearing candidates - being just two of the incidents in previous contests.

 

Fortunately (or not as the case may be), previous winners are unable to defend their title and all privileges are foregone when a new POTY is announced. 

 

This is the time of year when the power players draw their swords and the air is filled with allegations of abuse (in many forms), and, of course, there will be thread devoted to this unique competition, which you are advised to follow. 

 

 

And no, I don't get paid for this .......

'Nominate baboon or I'll kick your head in.'

Having been a long standing member (2004), I was approached by a dark figure behind a temple and told that I am to narrate the progress of the annual POTY contest. I was told that there could well be a day when I get 8 dots and become a mod, which was all the motivation I needed.

 

5 years down the track and there's no sign of my seventh dot, and the wiry old man who set me on this mission is nowhere to be seen, and as for becoming a mod, there's more chance of the General losing the up and coming election than I achieving mod status.

 

Still. I soldier on, year after year, shedding light on the mysterious goings on within the inner workings of TV, knowing that one day, my reward will arrive!

I would like to nominate Darkside Dog but he's a mod. Not sure it that's allowed. And I have a good reason for this nomination, as he is an unsung hero.

NCC1701A - for his accurate updates on the cave rescue, & his continued humorous comments.

 

When there was the last major upgrade, & the colour scheme, he likened to a 'womans day spa'.

 

Nyezov - very amusing threads. Hopefully if he does win, he can buy some unbroken Pringles! ????

One of the requirements is that you have some input all year, and I am only allowed in to cover this contest. Rarely post nowadays,  and you'll have to ask the mods if G can play or not.

I have no fear of entering mind, be tough to find any dirt on yours truly:)
