Tourist spending in last week of year to hit Bt47.4 bn

The Phuket Excise Chief, Wasin Seetalarom, today (Dec 24) flatly denied any immediate rises in the tax to be levied on alcohol.

 

PHUKET: The Chief of the Phuket office of the Excise Department has warned that ‘fake officials’ might be visiting businesses in Patong, Karon and Kata, explaining to operators that the levy on alcohol sales will rise by 10% next month.
