Immigration chief Lt-Gen Surachate Hakparn was the star of the show at a thank you event in the south of Thailand this week. 

 

Those who had been defrauded in a high interest loan scheme turned out to thank the man they affectionately call Big Joke.

 

So much so that many of those who had been ripped off and had now got their land title deeds back donned t-shirts with a big heart and the name Big Joke. 

 

The event at the Songkhla Nakharin university in Songkhla was featured on the Immigration Police site on Facebook.
