Hardly any of us wants that treaty signed for our own countries. If Thailand signed it, the country would be overrun by Chinese, Indian and what else. Hardly what we would like Thailand to transform into?

The last substantive one ‘organised’ via TV (and I used the words ‘substantive’ and ‘organise’ very loosely) involved a group of people meeting at a subway sandwich shop somewhere near Nana in Bangkok around 2005.

You are forgetting the chess club in Hua Hin. Dozens of members.

I moved to Isaan and joined the chess club in Udon Thani. It was OK but so many young Lao girls wanted to learn the game. Was quite off-putting when you are trying to concentrate and a young bit of fluff rubbed up against you and asked "why you do last move farang Owl?"

I wrote to Yinluck during the Bangkok flooding and offered my help. The government should pick our brains - so to speak - and help raise Thailand out of the 3rd world ashes.

A farang pressure group would be the biz'. There is so much talent here in LOS - I don't mean the young ladies but amongst the farang - going to waste.

What we might do is reach out to one of the parties running in the upcoming election to propose pro-farang policies in return for our collective influence to swing the sizeable bargirl/ex-bargirl constituency toward them.

We are getting ahead of ourselves.

It is unlikely that foreigners would

be allowed to officially register a union. It would have to be a secret society.

Something like :

Covert

Union

.....

..

but upon reflection perhaps it might be better to just forget the whole thing.
