The affordable PET Scan Cost in Bangkok

Featured Replies

Hi,

I am finding an affordable PET Scan Cost in Bangkok. My father is taking a medical treatment at Bumrungrad International Hospital. Due to the staffs, PET Scan cost is between 100,000 Bath to 130,000 Bath.

Can we find the more affordable PET Scan in Bangkok? How about at Chulalongkorn hospital?

With Many Thanks

Zaw

PET scans are expensive but 100-130 baht does seem  excessive. Another member on this board just had one done at Bangkok Hospital for 63,000 baht.

Try this specialized government cancer hospital which is under royal patronage, it has a PET scan:

Chulabhorn Hospital

Cyclotron and National Scanning Center

Tel  02-574-3355 or 087-694-7559

54 Kamphaeng Phet 6 Road Talat Bang Khen Subdistrict, Lak Si District, Bangkok 10210

AFAIK they will do scans ordered by doctors elsewhere. However since Bumrungrad has a PET scan you may run into problems getting a request from a doctor there for a PET scan to be performed elsewhere.

If that fails then Bangkok Hospital would be next choice but not so easy to just go there for PET scan, your father would need to be seen by a doctor there who would have to order it. If yo uindicate what his problem is I will suggest one, maybe this can also be an opportunity for a second opnion, the cancer center at Bangkok Hospital is very  good.

Chulalongkorn AFAIK does nto have a PET scan. Siriraj does , but not so easy to just go there and get it done if nto oen of their patients.

tell the bumrungrad doc that you already saw and paid that you just dont have that much money and ask that he/she give you a written order for pet. not helping you with this would be quite unethical

At what point in time did "ethics" play any part in the medical "industry" quest for cash? ????
