That was a foregone conclusion...

And why is that? I should vote for a Democrat just because she is a Democrat and against the President? You know how I think and how I analyze life from a few posts? You have deep understanding of my weltanshauung?

But hey, convince me: tell me how she is:

1. Qualified to be President, on her own, without tu quoque style analysis.

2. How her positions and policies will benefit the USA.

Because I dont think either apply.

well, i am not a liberal progressive, so I don't assume those who disagree are evil, just wrong.

Most liberals proudly tell those who disagree with their ideology that they are evil, stupid, racist,

and so forth. That is the clear example of self righteousness here.

You're getting close to the nub of the problem there. It is so obvious to see that the other side is wrong which makes one feel more assured about their own positions. Seldom considering that they themselves are also wrong. So everyone's just scoring points off each other in a game nobody wins. Except the 1% that is.

You just don't get it.  If the GOP had been courting the Hispanics living in the USA, they wouldn't be in this predicament.  But at every turn, they've convinced these people that they don't belong.  The GOPs own lessons learned after losing to Obama in 2012 cited this fact.  Heck, Trump's very first speech played on this nonsense with the "criminals, druggies, rapists" coming from Mexico.

Do you dispute the fact that most Latin Americans are Christians/conservatives?  What is the GOP about anymore, if not that?

yes, many Hispanics are SOCIALLY conservative, but vote democrat, as they have been peddled the democratic myth of fighting for the minorities

for decades after reinventing themselves in the 1960's. aided by the media of course.

and yes I agree the republicans have done a very poor job making the case for the policies that they support are good for everyone compared to

the ridiculous diversity quota mantra from the left that counts ethnicity numbers in every single facet of life. I don't agree religion is the main GOP

platform, but it assumed so. Their lack of debt control is their biggest failure with spending and waste rampant and zero accountability on both sides.

My attitude mirrors that of women who didn't sleep their way up the career ladder. Men too I imagine.

she passed the bar in 1990, was then appointed Assistant DA, how does a person with no experience do that?

Harris served as a deputy district attorney in Alameda County, California, from 1990 to 1998. Harris says she sought a career in law enforcement because she wanted to be "at the table where decisions are made."[8] In 1993, she started dating California Speaker of the Assembly Willie Brown, who introduced her to many powerful individuals in the California and Sacramento political and campaign management establishment.[22] In 2000, San Francisco's elected City Attorney, Louise Renne, recruited Harris to join her office, where she was chief of the Community and Neighborhood Division, which oversees civil code enforcement matters

Mind you: the right wing is getting out the old "birther"- joke again!

If you have nothing to bring to the fight, "she is a born American!" is the to-go-to-tactic again!

Sick and sad!

It's clear that you don't even know what a deputy district attorney is. Allow me to enlighten you:

"In the United States, a district attorney (DA) is the chief prosecutor for a local government area, typically a county. The exact name of the office varies by state. Except in the smallest counties, a district attorney leads a staff of prosecutors, who are most commonly known as deputy district attorneys (DDAs)."

In other words, if you were a lawyer working under the District Attorney is Alameda County, you were called a Deputy District Attorney. Nothing at all to do with undue influence.

That means nothing. District Attorneys always hunt down young graduates. Someone has to do weekend arraignments and such.

Young lawyers will gravitate to a DAs office for:

1. The Money: Criminal law experience. Get good at what you do, get to know the cops and the other DAs, get to know the Judges, get to know the system and walk into a criminal defense job at big bucks in a few years. Good folks to work with, they know they will be on your side some day so are upfront and fair

2. Jump starting a career as a prosecutor. Some folks will remain as a DA for a long time. It isnt hard work, not a lot of nights and weekends after the few years, decent pay, good pension, retire early. Good folks to work with, they do their job eithicly and dont want to cause waves

3. The Power Trippers: Its a great way to start your course to being a judge or a politico.

Number 3 were the ones I always mistrusted. Their lust for higher office overrode their obligation to do justice. Every case is a cause or a crusade to get noticed by the ones who count. The defendant is just a doormat on their road to their career.

I preferred "Power Trippers" that came from a PDs office. But they are rare, since PDs are either number 1 or 2, or their own category, the dedicated defense lawyers who view themselves rightfully as Liberty's Last Champion and will use their skills for the poor and downtrodden.

Exactly how much experience did you have as a defendant?

The mantle of your alleged authority on the subject is very badly tattered.

Must be a lot of money to be made running for the Presidency.  Maybe I should run, boost up my retirement fund.

Certainly the NRA will buy your soul, thing is you can keep selling your soul multiple times, even to conflicting interests...

We aren't talking about him though are we.

Is your argument merely, she is better than him?

If that's so, then why not just flip a coin for the Democrat nomination.

So all the Democratic candidates are better than Trump?

And how many sides do your coins have?

Well considering that Jewish Americans are by certain polls the highest income "group'' (I hate to use that word because it falls in the the Democratic Party Tribal trap), the highest "educated" group, the most "socially liberal" group, and the second largest supporter of Israel (after Evangelicals, who the Democrats have lost), looks like she needs their backing. Of course, she has to dance with the Anti Semites and their fellow travelers that now riddle the Democratic party (Farrakhan, Sarsour, Mallory, Tlaib, AOC).

Its sort of interesting to watch. Transgender rights and female circumcision. Abortions and anti catholics and Latino Catholics and Chadors and Jews. Oil and gas money vs Greens. Radical Socialists. SJWs and Blue Dogs (the few left...I was a Blue Dog once upon a time). The primaries are going to be very intellectually interesting.

Right, the Democratic party is riddled with anti-semites. Which is why benighted Jewish Americans. who are on average far more educated than most other groups in the USA, vote overwhelmingly to support the Democratic party. Even though, on a purely selfish economic basis, voting for Republicans would, be far more likely to economically benefit them.

And there's also this:

Anti-Semitism: Republicans Vs. Democrats

Contrary to the long-standing neoconservative mantra that the left poses a greater threat to Jews than the right, a national poll released late last week suggests that Democrats are considerably more sensitive to—and worried about—anti-Semitism than Republicans.

The Quinnipiac University survey, conducted March 2-6, found a yawning difference between Republicans and Democrats on whether they considered “prejudice against Jewish people in the United States today … a very serious problem.” Over half of self-identified Democrats (51%) agreed that it was indeed “very serious,” while less than one in five (18%) Republican respondents described it that way.

A total of 87% of Democrats said that they considered the problem either “very” or “somewhat” serious. By contrast, only 53% of Republicans agreed—a 34-point gap.
