They (Parliament as a whole) enacted the EU Referendum Act 2015 to allow it to happen.

The problem now lies with the “meaningful vote” at the end of EU negotiations and amendments being tabled to frustrate the exit date. Many of the Parliamentarians were closet Remainers, now outed, who had to be seen to respect the referendum. The worlds biggest opinion poll is now UK law, despite the Remainers wails. The legislative wheels grind slowly, and in the right direction, so far not thwarted by those traitorous Remainers.

Wow .. great logic and truth laid out.

I would add we were tricked in the 1976 referendum. We were asked to vote on wether to join a free trade block. Google the referendum pamphlet from 1976 that every household in the UK got. 

Those opposed were refused funds to do a similar mailing giving the truth. We were TRICKED by old men empire building. There waa zero interest by the public. Most had never heard of the Common Market. 

When they were asked to join or not that was the name. The COMMON MARKET. The clue us the name of the club we were asked to join.

AFTER we agreed to join .. whats not to like. It became a United States of Europe project.

For Americans .. imagine being consulted about being in a free trade organusation with Canada and South American countries. Voting ok.  THEN FINDING OUT .. IN YEARS TO COME .. Its open borders, an Americas Parliament in Mexico, A Venuzualan President of the block,  common currency wanted, their laws over yours. 

And Mexicans and Panamanians etc etc etc can just turn up and have a right to Social Security. Residency ... a common passport.

Well to be exact to get SS .. just put up with 10 sharing a house for 3 months .. then from then you got MORE claims than those who families paid taxes for generations .. because the locals have not made themselves homeless and work etc etc. 

They can even claim child support for all their children still back in their home country. Not paid a penny in tax but can get the same as families who paid tax for many generations.

The United Statges of Europe was/is a project no one wanted, it was a tiny tiny egotistical group of old power hungry men who conned the rest of us.

Its also ironic that many of these people when asked what is the point Of the EU say (often giving this one reason) is THAT IT HAS/WILL STOP EUROPEAN WARS.

WHAT !!!!  Germany invades Europe .. and later to stop similar incidents we got to have a United States of Europe. 

A certain weird logic I guess BUT that was not the point of view or logic we were given when tricked in voting. Errrr I voted no so it did not fool me,  But that point never dreamed of.

So we vote for free trade .. then decades later are told it is actually to stop Germany or the UK starting a war.

We were conned. 

The young in the UK dont know we were lied to. They not know any different .. the oldies still HATE PASSIONATELY THE LIES AND DECEIT.

And wont just forgive and forget the LIES. 

It is nationalism or racism on our part .. its the deceit and lies we cant stomach.

Now for leaving something we were tricked into joining they want to punish us .. not least to stop others leaving something most of Europes population not even been consulted about.
