pampal Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 In one of the posts I read here, it states that these girls were self employed overseas. What does that sound like to you? If you asked a prostitute what they did, they could say they were self employed, and the overseas bit just seals the deal If the shoe fits btw no one deserves to die, specially like this be they a prostitute or other but it does make a difference in the way it's investigated, and the fervor and dilligence of the police depends on what they believe the motive was.
garp Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 In one of the posts I read here, it states that these girls were self employed overseas. What does that sound like to you? Of course that means they were prostitutes, not a shadow of a doubt. what a clever thing you are. what's your job?
Prakanong Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 "Prakanong Subtle, for two girls by themselves getting liquored up at 5 am in the morning in one of the most dangerous areas of Pattaya. I'll bet you they was the only ones that done this in the last 6 months at least, I would almost consider this sucide if it wasn't so pathetic. There has been several incidents of people being attacked for no reason in the middle of the day in that area. Watch out and do not step on any discarded needles of the local drug users." You know this as will most who live there or read web-boards Would an ordinary Russian though who probably does not read English anyway. They would see this as a luxury holiday to a dream tropical destination and would probably not know its not the place to sit on the beach. Look at the murder and rape on Samui just over a year ago - the poor english girl probably had more access to information than these victims but still went onto the beach at night. They had been doing this a few nights apparently - probably got back from clubbing - did not want to go home so headed to the beach to watch sunrise. OK the first few days then whack! I have done this myself in Thailand more than a dozen years ago but not much recently although I have got up very early to go look at the beach at say 6 in Samui
pattaya_girl Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 well looking at the photo of them together in this link, they look like normal tourists to me enjoying themselves. ITS SO SAD !!! http://www.pattayadailynews.com/shownews.p...NEWS=0000002484

If the shoe fits So.......tried and convicted on the basis of a post from this entirely reliable source (TV), that they were "self employed". Some people here really scare me. I think you have been living out your avatar too long pampal! jack
oevna Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 This is tragic, and I hope the families of these two women can find peace. It is also unfortunate that people are making conclusions about the illegitimacy of these two ladies' stay in Thailand. Speculation is fine, but suspicious as this case is, there is no evidence so far proving that they were prostitutes, or that the Russian mafia was involved in their killng. There are Russian prostitutes in Pattaya, but there are also Russian tourists. There may even be a lot of Russian prostitutes in Pattaya, but "a lot" is a very subjective term. High-profile crimes will always be more visible than legitimate, uneventul situations, which outnumber the high-profile crimes by a large margin. You don't see news stories with headlines like "Foreign Tourist has Uneventful Visit to Pattaya." But how many such cases are there every year, compared to the small handful of news stories about tragedies like this? As far as I am concerned, until there is real evidence, any theory is possible, and no conclusion is reasonable. Cheers, -oev
garp Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 And from the nation.... "Both the women worked as telephone operators in Vladimit City and were visiting Thailand in a tour group."
Paully900 Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 Oh Geez!!!!First it was The Russians are coming! The Russians are coming! Now where will they go? Time to find a suspect, any suspect, and have a very quick public lynching. That'll do it. Guess they didn't read the book about not offending the face of a Thai. If there is a silver lining in this horrid event, and there really isn't, I suppose it will be easier to locate a vacant beach chair for awhile. Also, people are likely to be really, really polite to the vendors. People are likely to be really, really polite to the vendors or they just kill you? Make all the tourists coming here and bringing there money to learn that BOOK about not offending the face of a Thai, and specially those beach criminals you call the vendors.

I am not judging or trying to convict anyone, but what and who these girls were, will ultimately decide what way the police investigate. So please read my post before responding. Scary hmm, the Naive people scare me more than people who aren't afraid of looking at different angles of a crime. that's how you can solve things, by being open minded, not by being naive and uninformed. crimes are solved by looking at evidence, but also realizing that evidence can be tampered with after a crime. Khun ? Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 Nobody has mentioned that these girls could be members of the Russian Mafia. Naw, they would not be there drinking cheap booze. Could be they had problems back home and was sent on a nice paid for vacation. Easier for accident to happen and hidden to those involved( more or less whateveryone has been speculating, some type of crime element at work). Pattaya girl It is a shame the present situation and until they humiliate the corrupt and violent people, it will not change much. I see a 10 pm curfew coming for those under 18 and under 16 not driving a moped around half the night. Are thais so rich they can all afford mopeds for thier children to run around on. What happened to the normal bicycle and parental role models. It is all about the easy and quick money. This is the problem with resort areas the world over. Time to had to the country side and let the thugs kill each other. JMHO I have no desire to spend 10's of thousand $ in Thailand as I once did nor ever visiting again.

pattaya_girl Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 it is NOT clear to me at all. just because they come from russia, and on the beach at 5am in the morning, you jump to conclusions - YOU DONT KNOW..... some tourists on holidays party all night and sleep all day - you are jumping to conclusions. just coz they had quite a lot of make up on, makes them a hooker???????????? they look like nice ladies to me on that photo, and very beautiful, with normal clothes on,,, and i dont care what anyone says. i have my own views - still waiting to see if the deck chair man has surfaced yet !!!!

If someone thinks well enough of them to spend moey to get them here then they would also make certain the do's and don'ts were followed, at least one would think. As a guy it is not safe anywhere close to the beach at night and that is in a group. Then again i guess the girls could be doing their thing after spending the night clubbing with their host. Still pathetic whatever the case and just hope they had no children back home to mourn this senseless act. Need to have a danger Icon added for post.

Amdesign Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 Many Russian girls work as entertainers in Bangkok's numerous night clubs, or can be hired as "escorts".... http://www.asiapacificms.com/articles/russian_mafia/ Here their talking about 1995. there are many more Ruskys here now. and a lot more established. Since 1995 Russia changed a lot. Economy and national pride grew up considerably (contrary to desire of some 'democrats' abroad) and new waves of girls 'working' abroad is much much smaller. You are trying to make conclusions on old data. Besides, many of those you cal Russians are actually Ukrainians, Uzbek, Kazakh and others from CIS contries with lower living standards.

slimdog Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 Police find leads in Russian tourists' murder BANGKOK, Feb 26 (TNA) – Thai police investigators have produced some clues suggesting that a gang of foreigners may have been involved in the murder of two Russian tourists at Jomtien beach in the popular seaside resort of Pattaya on Saturday morning. Police Lieutenant General Assawin Kwanmuang, Region 2 Provincial Police commissioner, said he had instructed the police investigating team to seek an early arrest of the culprit after close examination of the victims' holiday snapshots taken while visiting some tourist attractions as well as security camera images which found that a gang of foreigners, in particular "The Chopper Gang", a local group in Pattaya, may have been involved in the killings. The police officer did not provide more details about the so-called gang, but indicated that mobile phone records of the two women are being thoroughly checked for further evidence as they used local simcards to call in and out prior to the killings. Tatiana Tsimfer, 30, and Liubov Svirkova, 25, were found dead in their beach chairs at about 5am Saturday after being repeatedly shot by an unknown assailant, police said. Police said the two women were tourists who had arrived in Thailand on February 16 and were due to depart on March 1. Earlier police offered a Bt100,000 (about US$3,000) reward for the capture of the gunman. They also released a video monitor sequence of a tall man aged about 30, captured by security camera, parking a motorcycle at a beachside road, running to the two Russian women and shooting the pair before fleeing on the motorcycle. Gen. Assawin said Sunday that the women worked as telephone operators in Russia and were visiting Thailand for the first time with a tour group. They had noting to do with illegal transnational prostitution, according to personal records shown by a representative from the Russian Embassy. He also ruled out the possibility of robbery as the victims' belongings were left untouched. Pattaya, about 110 kilometres (70 miles) southeast of Bangkok, is popular among foreign holidaymakers. The beach resort attracts tens of thousands of Russian tourists every year. (TNA)-E001 source: http://etna.mcot.net/query.php?nid=28151

Prakanong Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 "The Chopper Gang" <deleted> They found snapshots of these girls drinking with these guys so thery are now suspects? Of course they should be investigated as they would have know the victims recently but is there anything else? Who is the "Chopper Gang" - there are a few MC's in Pattaya but I have never heard of "The Chopper Gang"
Amdesign Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 Many Russian crime syndicates have set up operations in prostitution, narcotics, and contract killings hidden behind legitimate businesses like bars and restaurants in Pattaya. (Superintendent of Pattaya police station Police Coronel Pinit Satyacharoen, Preecha Sa-Ardsorn, "Police worry Russian mafia getting stronger," The Nation, 9 April 1998)For those who argue that the Russian mafia has no place in Pattaya. Why didn't You mention American movies? Also good proof of Russian mafia... P.S. Now is 2007, not 1998.
