Gov. Blocking Websites

Featured Replies

Pretty much as long as there's been public internet here, but mostly during the last government.

My impression is that many sites have now been unblocked.

Some sites have been blocked more or less all along, and several others were blocked during the Thaksin administration, when it all reached peak levels.

After the takeover, many sites were unblocked, and recently a few of those have been blocked anew. Different Internet Service Providers appear to apply varying degrees of blocking.

This is a sensitive subject which could implicate Thaivisa.

We specifically cannot discuss how to use proxy servers and software to bypass these blocks, so if the discussion goes in that direction it will be closed. Also, some blocked websites concern subjects which are taboo, and so cannot be discussed either. This is reality - we hope for your understanding and, apologize, as they say, for any inconvenience. :D:o

I haven't noticed any sites blocked on my True account for about a month now.

Careful.

We are talking about government policy and criticism will not be permitted.

Yes, I know that is Thaivisa censorship, but it is needed to make sure we do not get blocked. :o
