Hi i am retired and will continue to be so

currently on retirement visa/ext

In the light of recent events  a Thai friend who I introduced into the Travel business many years ago has suggested a WP through his company as a consultant. 

I have few questions as i have not worked in Thailand since 2012

 

Questions 

  • set up costs
  • salary is it 50K pm (it will be paid monthly and i will return)
  • Any tax i have a existing tax number from my working days
  • any ongoing costs
  • Do you still get multiple non B visa

Set up costs for what? If your friend employs you in an existing company and has enough capital and Thai staff working for him already, it's just the cost for the work permit, that's afaik a few thousand THB

3,800Baht for the initial issue of the WP.

My understanding based on my previous personal company and work permit is that farangs have to pay a minimum of 50,000 baht a month income tax regardless of salary. So the quoted salary will not work, unless it is net.

If I'm wrong I need to visit the tax dept.

There is no requirement to pay 50k baht in taxes. The minimum salary for most western countries is 50k baht per month for an extension of stay based upon working for a company.

Thats not problem as it can be adjusted to suit obviously i need to cover all costs eg tax
