I'm assuming you already tried the noodle carts, shoe stores and beauty salons, maybe next try walking into any pharmacy and ask them.  or Lazada sells empty gelatin capsuls 1000 for a little over 200 baht.

a nasty tasting herb fine powder

I use one of these below -- do you have some kind of problem (arthritis, eg) that makes using this difficult? 

 

(I'm not in Thailand atm, so can't help you, but I expect to be back in a couple of months)

Well, that surprises me. I'm not what you'd call a patient person, but I found this machine to be very easy to use. I'm glad I bought it. I'll be back in Thailand in a couple of months, if you can wait till then. If you're prepared to help with making the pills, then I won't charge anything -- ain't worth it.

Pay attention on capsule size choosing... Since there are too many sizes...

Fascinos Pharmacy carries gel caps that you can buy over the counter. Go into the one on South Pattaya and buys some, cap them up yourself.
