You will never hear of a CEO giving their life to serve the sick and pook in a leper colony. That you focus on the evil that men do and not the good that Christians have done throughout history speaks volumes about you.

Jesus said, "I have not come to condemn the world, I came here to save it". From this scripture it is clear Jesus knew of the evil man was capable of doing.

Jesus said, "I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying." This is the promise that believers and non-believers should focus on.

Today, the greatest minds of science have demonstrated that at the quantum level everything is made up of energy and intelligence.  What is the origin of this intelligence? Some claim it is consciousness, a soul that pervades the Universe.

God Bless

What pope has done anything but kill people and make money?  Google Papal crusades and wealth controlled by the Vatican.

Try "The Devils" directed by Ken Russel and starring Oliver Reed. Dealt with exactly this subject. Very controversial at the time.

Aldous Huxley's book The Devils of Loudun gave much of the source material for the film, well worth a read.

On the cross he also said, "You can see our house from up here." Profound.

I don't get it - I managed to go through my whole atheist life without ever...

- sexually assaulting anyone

- having sex with minors

And I have not benefited from the 'moral compass' given by a religion.

When one sees Muslims from Malaysia coming through the Songkhla border crossing to drink alcohol and buy hookers, it's fairly obvious their "moral compasses" were left behind in Malaysia.

Unfortunate post only made as an attempt at humor. It failed.

The pope is a hoax, made of politicians reasons, and now a business imperium. Abusing their power in many ways above peoples heads, and make them believe in something that is not true.

We have only one god on earth, and that is the nature. We are just a little tiny dust in the space, ruled by mother earth.

The Koran states that, when travelling, Moslems need not observe Ramadan. Every year, I see wealthy Middle Easterners taking advantage of this rule by sojourning in Pattaya for the length of Ramadan. It's comical to see them every night, in Drinking Street, a bottle of Red Label in front of them, a girl on either arm and toking away on a Shisha pipe. Observers of most religions are extreme hypocrites.

Im born in a christian country, baptised, but still not a believer. It just doesnt concern me. When I celebrate christmas, I celebrate family, life, and the sun is coming back, not Jesus birthday.

Not everyone born in a Muslim country is practising the religion. But they are forced to it, as long they are inside the comunity.

I'm interested in your certainty you are right. What proof are you offering, apart from a few minatory statements?

Oh, I'm quite certain. All the proof is before you if you choose the right path.

You cant see trough the gold, frankincense, myrrh, fairy tales and fancy dresses do you?

It is pure business as the Temples arround in Asia. Land, power, money and control. Nothing else!

There have been many vise people talking about how we should live in this world, but none of them have come from god himself to speak for him. And for sure, the pope is not his voice on earth!

I will say good luck to you, because you need it, not me.

My Mother was a staunch Roman Catholic for the whole of her life (well almost). When she was dying of cancer, I took her to Lourdes for the cure. After 3 days of witnessing the rank commercialisation, devout priests fleecing the poor and chronically disabled of large amounts of money, she renounced her religion. A few weeks later she died having refused the Last Rites.

You are correct, with age does come wisdom, I'm sorry that your age doesn't seem to have blessed you with any wisdom.

I agree the Pope is not Gods voice on Earth. Don't seek the people of this world to tell you how to live in this world. Only a fool would do that as we are all sinners. Instead seek God and he will lead you. If you don't believe in him then that's your option. Just don't expect him to be at your side on judgement day if you choose to reject him simply because the religious leaders in this world failed you.

If you thought taking your mother all the way to Lourdes for a "cure", well, shame on you for giving her false hope. No one lives forever. We all die via different means/ways. Our relationship with God is what secures our ultimate home for eternity.

BTW, a truly "devout" Priest (which I admit there are few of) would never fleece people. Trusting in God and not the things and people of this world is the only path.

You know what my problem is with religion and god? There is no human on this planet who know what god is, and what god wants, but there is people who destroy other peoples lives because they think they do!

I live a decent enough life to know when my time comes, I did my best from what I had and could have done. Of course I could done alot more for other people, but I also have to make my life as good as possible, so I can do some in return for others.

We live on a planet by nature law, and maybe thats what we should be more concerned about, the nature, than guessing what god wants.

Well, I understand and you make a few points but when you say "There is no human on this planet who know what god is, and what god wants" that is untrue. What he want's is all written down for you to read and understand.

Being a staunch Catholic it was my Mother's last wish. Up to her.

My home for eternity will be in the Mekong River, where my ashes will be scattered.

Yes, my father came across a devout preist. He was the Abbot of a theologian College, run by Spanish monks in Tangiers. The abbot would sit my father on his knee, sipping from a can of condensed milk and encourage my father to masturbate him, all in the name of God, of course.

Back right on topic, a few years later, my father was fighting with a communist brigade in the Spanish Civil War. His unit "liberated" a convent. They found a graveyard in the convent with the bodies of many newborn babies. On further investigation, they found a centuries old tunnel that led from the convent to the local monastery. Randy buggers, them monks.

Sorry, but books are still written by humans. Is like when you spend time thinking big thoughts, and suddenly you discover the answer by dreaming it, and it feels so real. Just like been there with these people, and gotten all the answers. I have discovered answers in my dream many time, and sometime it have been good answers, but so far not been talking to god. I know G. W. Bush did talk to god, but,,,,,,,  Well, Anyone else have experienced discoveries in their dreams? I do not mean wet dreams, so please

"My home for eternity will be in the Mekong River, where my ashes will be scattered." I'm sad to here this is what you consider to be your eternity Spidey.

I have no words for what happened to your father nor the babies in the graveyard. Both are horrific. But remember those situations were all conducted by humans. Yes, they were "supposed" to be representatives of God on this Earth. They failed. Don't let their failures define your eternal home tho.

Good luck in life Spidey. I hope you find your way.

Found it thanks. After his experiences as a boy/young man, my father became a lifelong evangelical atheist.

I take my teachings from him.

Unfortunate of you Hummin. You offered nothing to the conversation. Rather just a childish response. Sad.
