Steve Irwin’s life was cut short when he was impaled through the chest by a stingray in 2006 near the Great Barrier Reef.

But his legacy remains immense.

He was a popular television personality, a zookeeper, science educator, and a conservationist.

He would have been 57 years old today, and a Google Doodle not only honors him, but also the work he dedicated his life to.

A truly amazing man!  "Danger, danger, danger!"  His legacy will endure.

You forgot the  'Will Robinson' bit.

His legacy did not endure. Look what his bitch of a wife did to his father.

He was all about self promotion and money. Not the aussie type that I grew up with.

They were good nextdoor neighbours until they bought Whale One and parked it in front of their house. I had to navigate around it every time I wanted to head out for a sail.
