Up till recently, been able to purchase multiple "prescribed" medicines from pharmacies...

Went to a pharmacy in Bangkok last week to purchase several packs of an Asprin based medicine, (Cardiprin), &

told can only buy 1 pack..tried to ascertain why, just given usual Thai reply (shrug of shoulders!!)..

Unaware if applies to other medications not tried to get other supplies...

Has anyone encountered this same problem? Do You know reason for change??

Cardiprin is just expensive soluble aspirin. Perhaps the product is in short supply and the pharmacy is rationing what can be purchased. There is no central government restriction on the products sale.

For some reason that remains unknonw Bayer aspirin was pulled from the sholves - official reason - they're rebranding or something like that.

It it never came back as far as I've seen. No rule change, no nothing but it's gone. One of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world stopped selling their product for apparently no reason.

Now I know there's a reason - we just don't know what it is...yet.

it is not only their aspirin. Other Bayer products likewise off the shelfs.

Offtopic, but: Bayer is doomed. Stupid enough to fork out 66 billion Dollar for one of the world's most spoiled names (Monsanto).

Now expecting multi billion Dollar compensation claims for damages from Glyphosate herbicide ("Roundup").

And of course job cuts in the making already (a mate is due for early retirement).

Wouldn't surprise me if they came out with a new artificial/meaningless company name "suitable for the global market". So many famous German brand names evaporated over the years.

As an update, went to anor Pharmacy & no problem getting multiple packs of Cardiprin + asked can get other meds in multiple quantities; no prob!! .

Perhaps, original Pharmacy has short supplies of certain meds & is simply "rationing" what have available.. ?????
