Regarding it's use.  I've written this before - you have to cycle Tramadol.  I set a limit for it's use.  Once I reach 100mg/day I start planning to quit using it for up to two months to allow my physical and brain chemistry to reset to normal.  Then you can take it again.  Stopping it's use requires self-discipline and the ability (and desire) to taper off the use of the drug.  It's a useful pain reliever if used in moderation and with clear intent.

haha.

Your description above is seems that of a addict.  Tapering off allowing your body and brain the adjust??

It is a synthetic Opiate schedule 4 drug in the US due to high risk of addiction and overdose.

Even at your 100 mg seizures are possible. Search it yourself there are 100ś of articles about Tramadol and its mental and physical addictive properties.  And yes, after a few days it is common to have odd dreams and very easy to become dependent.

I suggest you educate yourself.  Please, do not be naive It can be very destructive drug.

Good luck

Not sure why you have back pain but I see many references to kidney stones. I don't have kidney stones and occasionally get debilitating back pain that lands me in bed for days at a time. I find a strong muscle relaxant and naproxen (both available across the counter in Canada) works miracles for me.

Really, well just this week I had 3 morphine shots every other day at a private hospital for my dislocated shoulder and I just finished the 200 milligrams worth of oral morphine tablets that I was given to take home last night.  And over the past five years I’ve had several morphine shots and oral morphine tablets prescribed to me for severe back pain.  My advice is very much correct although maybe you live in a place where your local hospital has bad doctors I don’t know.  I’ve had to be careful with narcotic pain medication over the past few years because last year I was prescribed so much I almost got addicted.

Morphine is extremely easy to get at private hospitals IF you are in bad enough pain.  I can assure you of that one from personal experience even from just this week.

What hospital in Thailand?  I've been to 3 screaming in pain with no results.  http://www.bdms.co.th/

I think the largest chain in Thailand.

Hi if your pain is not kidney related but "just" back pain i can help with specific yoga techniques.. Believe or not.

i have experience. Requires to know more about your "back"ground and your physical activities (that lead to this). Nothing has no reasons.

Pathetically , people have nothing else to cling to than  painkillers. Not  treating the reason of the problem is like spraying paint on a rusty metal.   msg in pv.  I'll be in Thailand from Songkran onward

Even some yoga methods are pure bullsh.. . Only competent teacher  with long time experience and real method can help. "Live hidden, live happy " My method is  known only by my students and my teacher's students,  my local yoga teacher who created his own method that is unique, a synthesis of the main traditional methods of yoga with a personal "touch". Much better than many known methods.   Works perfectly for many people with back pain (and many other problems).

I had terrible back pain for years, but a chiropractor helped a lot. But now I have acupuncture once a week and that is even better. But I have to go once a week, .

otherwise the pain comes back

if you have kidney stones. You should go to Pacharat hospital in Petchburi. They have a machine that bombards stone with some kind of rays. It's pretty painless and very successful. I was in hospital a couple of days and it cost about 30,000. Bt. Unless you have insurance Bangkok hua hin hospital will cost you a fortune.

What type of pain.

You say cannot move, a muscular pain, tendons irritation, spinal pains preventing movement, or as many seem to think, pains from kidney stone.

If it is something other than kidney stones, it creates lots of heat in the affected areas.

Apply cold packs to reduce the heat, which should lead to healing by itself.

But most of all, relax, and relax more. Stress is the main cause of back pains other than kidney stones or other such ailments.

I've been using it for years.  it's not addicting unless you have a propensity toward addiction, never had a 'horrible dreams' base on Tramadol use, it does not make me fuzzy in the morning.  So, your statement should include the caveat:
For you bkk6060 personally - "It is very addicting, causes horrible dreams, and takes a few hours of fuzziness to wake up on the morning."

Is it addictive?  Food's addictive to some people.  Sex is addictive to some people.  So Tramadol is addictive to some people.  Individual variability.  Some people can responsibly use it - others can't.  Can you imagine banning food and sex because some people are addicts?

This is my experience as well.  I have been using tramadol for chronic pain of cfs/me for years.  I monitor its use carefully, writing down the time and dose diligently.  Periodically, I also back off from it, which makes returning to it more effective.  With a daily dose of no more than 100mg, I have no negative effects.  Now, however, my local pharmacies have stopped selling it otc.

OP has already clarified that pain is in the neck/shoulder area radiating down the arm.

Any sort of exercise or manipulation would be very, very unwise at this juncture. He either has a shoulder injury or cervical spine problem in either case impinging on nerve.

Accupuncture is unlikely to help in that case. The pressure on the nerve needs to be relieved.

Gentle cervical traction can be tried if he can get the device. That, ice, assuming whatever position is most comfortable and taking whatevet meds were prescribed (likely NSAID) is as much as he can safely do at this point.

He needs to see an ortho specialist and likely have an MRI to pinpoint cause of the problem

The important thing is that you go to a hospital that has a neurologist and magnetic X-ray. My friend got something similar in mid-December. We did not find any hospital here with the possibilities that were not very expensive, so he had to fly home. There was found that he received cancer.

"Any sort of exercise or manipulation would be very, very unwise at this juncture. " That depends. Any work by someone who is incompetent would be harmful. . But my exercice can help. I have dealt with many similar cases.  Not dealing with the problem is not the way to solve it

Possibly a good practice to actually know what the underlying medical issue is before saying you know what is best to resolve it.

Yoga did help me with my herniated disc. Yoga can help but a safe course of action to start as part of the PT phase after acute symptoms are identified and treated, right?

You may have great insight but you don’t want to risk sounding like a charlatan.

he can make a radiography or medical assessment. If it is only muscular or articular i can help.  If he doesn't want help and only rely on drugs, up to him.

Hope you are getting the help you need at hospital (18 hours since posting)

Always find your comments entertaining, humorous, and/or informative

My experiences with back and neck pain have always been relieved with muscle relaxers and trips to the chiropractor.   Not here to give advice as all pain is different, causes different, etc...

i have taught for 26 years to hundreds of people and seen the same cases, also skeptical people who came to me at last resort after relying only on drugs that did nothing but hide the problem with pain hiders.. Now their problem is something of the past.  In this world there is a culture of taking pills instead of removing the origin of the problem. Bad moves, over exertion in sports, lifting heavy weights the wrong way, is often the cause. Quite often, those with these problems were really active sportsmen who put too much strain on their body.  They contracted too much certain muscles which weakened others in return. And that created problems in cascade. The long term taking of pain hiders will weaken the liver and other internal organs. it is not good to rely only on that for years.
If the OP asks a "miracle method", there is none in the short term. Only an assortment of adapted stretchings can help, in the case of a purely muscular or articular strain (not originated by an accident).

The person needs to adjust the daily attitude that led to the problem also. In the case of the sequels an accident , it's another matter that has to be studied case by case.

Voltfast Powder 50 mg. (this stuff i can feel kick in)

Tramal Retard 100 mg (this stuff i can feel kick in)

Nortriptyline 25 mg (bedtime) fun reading about this. i was not going to take it but they only gave me two tabs so i don't think it will kill me.

doctor seemed to think muscle in my shoulder somehow aggravated.

today given:

Voltaren-SR 100 mg

Zolpidem (I am not going to take this)

so i will wait 3 more days with arm in sling and see if improved.

let this be a wake up call, stay off the trapezes and trampolines and also the chandelier swinging, if the latest one requires these actions for satisfaction send her to circus school...

If it's your back thats the problem, then contact Sergey on 0910410024 if you're in Pattaya.

My back went on me a while ago as I have 2 bulging discs so I found Sergey through Facebook and in my opinion is one of the best Physio's I've ever used.

I went from using pain relief to nothing. He really knows his stuff.

He's located not far from the Soi Bhuakao markets.

He can cure bulging discs? Your painfree?
